noisy windows drivng me crazy!

BOTH of my windows "creak" or squeak, or whatever the hell you wanna call it. its driving me Crazy. every tiny little bump on the road causes this noise. makes this car feel cheap

i even had a new regulator put in on drivers side. still, the squeaks!

what do i need here? new rubber trim around the doors? is it the Tint? or just the nature of the beast?

Some grease on the gears and cables.

Sounds like the window seal is dried out. Put a rubber conditioner on it and see if that works.

Wait, you mean our cars aren't cheaply built?

My windows rattle a little when the door is shut and the windows are less than 100% rolled up. Ordinarily, that means the window track is worn.

I have the same thing happening on my windows. I'm going to try some rubber grease to supple it up. Would love to hear what others have done.

I have the same problem, and have tracked it down to the top track the window sits in. The glass is hitting the frame at the top. It was driving me nuts. I got some sticky velcro strips, (the "carpet" side) and stuck a couple small pieces up in the track where I thought the window was hitting. Sure enough, it fixed the issue.
Nice and quiet now.

There's a TSB to fix this issue. It involves replacing the guide rails for the glass. Ask your dealer for the parts.

Also check the alignment of the window 'cassette' in the door. Has to be spot-on.

I agree , the window can be slightly adjusted.

I mentioned how to align and if its straight and not too high, its likely the seal.

If your window is straight on the seam with the B - pillar, then you can get a new seal. IF not then you can adjust it with a tool. A MINI dealership or anyone with the ability to align panels can do.

Bpilliar between #2 and #3

For adjustment
*There are two mounts on the bottom of the window at the meeting of the regulator to the glass , they look like little gears and take a special MINI window tool. * Looking at the window on the side of you MINI with the door closed = in essence you can move the window left, right, up , and down by a small amount. But not toward on inward to the car. * Unless you are able to do some mechanicals I would leave this to someone who can repair windows.

Or if its straight: You can get a new seal , we have them here.

OEM MINI Part : 51767151383 Left ( passenger side ) Fits All R50 R53 & R56 hardtops

Thanks and I hope that helps, let me know if you guys need anything else.
