R50/53 Mini collectors...who do you insure with?
>>Are you speaking of the classic Mini or the new MINI? I insured the classic through Haggarty for $99 a year full coverage with $18,000 agreed value. I am not familiar with grundy.
I consider my new Mini a collector car and am looking for alternative insurance that will cover the investment put in. Do you have Haggerty's web site?
Thanks

Well, it really doesn't matter that YOU consider your new Mini a collector car, it's what the Insurance company and the State says. A new car isn't a collector. I believe to get collector status it has to be 20 years old. But I'd bet that varies by state.

They don't have year or milage limitations
Sounds pretty good (if true). They quoted me for $690 at a agreed value of $40k.
A "collector car" has to start somewhere. Since my Mini is just my hobby car, I can afford to treat it as such.

USAA is going to do my insurance. They quoted me at 137 a month, whatever that is for 6 months, you can to the math. I thought it was pretty high until my father reminded me that I'm a 22 year old driving a brand new sport type of car.
