YAY! I feel like I'm finally nearing the dream of owning a MINI of my very own! I ordered a 2005 Cooper S from MINI of Sterling today and I can't wait for the day it arrives!!!

I went with the EB Cooper S, with white roof, mirrors, and bonnet stripes. I got all 3 packages, as well as the HK sound system with Sirius. I also threw in for the driving lamps, auto dim/wipers, and a dealer armrest.

I can't even tell you folks on NAM how helpful you've been -- and how friendly! You really helped me learn so much more about the car -- and I'm sure will be a great support group as I move forward through the summer with no MINI in sight (but a growing down payment )!

And (in the off chance that you actually care ) ...I ordered a 2005 because I currently have no secure place to park a car (D.C. living - gotta love it) and I just couldn't live with myself if I parked my MINI on a side street or a random parking garage !! By this summer, I will have relocated to a new apartment with secure parking for my MINI!!!!!

Congrats! When is your delivery scheduled for? late September or Early october?

I ordered my '04 MCS on January 26th, 2003. Waited 10 months for it to arrive and took delivery on October 3, 2003. My MCS is 6 months old today and 6,500 troublefree, grin inducing miles!

It is worth the wait!

Thank you Cooper4us! I am scheduled for delivery (tentatively) around that time. My MA said that she'd have a better estimate for me after she hears more details around the 05 production. I'm so excited! This summer is going to be the slowest EVER!

Congratulations........you'll have lots of time this summer for MINI dreaming.

I think the Electric Blue color looks great. If it had been available on my 03 MC I'd have gotten it.

At least your MINI is now on order.

Thanks for the congrats, everybody! =) I think I'll soon break down and start ordering accessories -- it's hard to put down that deposit and not know when my baby will finally arrive!

Thanks for the advice on the DC MINI club, too! I found their web site last night and thought some of the events were REALLY cool! AHHHH I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! That color choice is HOT, as I've said before, I'm sure you'll love it! Who did you order from at Sterling MINI? I did all my stuff with John, he lacks a chin but he's a pretty cool dude.

Thanks =)

I ordered from Shafaly, she is new but was pretty good. I have a feeling she'll be a bit of an "eager beaver" so that'll be good for when I'm incessantly calling her about the 05 build schedule.

On another note: I went in a month ago and spoke with John, and I called him back and left a VM. He never got back to me so I called on Friday and asked the receptionist what was up with that -- she said "he was no longer with them."

Have you heard that??? I liked him -- funny dude -- but he just dissapeared!

Crazy! I hadn't heard that. I was planning on calling tomorrow so we'll see what the deal with my order is.

Congrats! I didn't know you could order one that far in advance.

I got the impression from other places on the web that the 2005 MINI is going to be different from the current MINI, but have been unable to find out what that means. The only thing anybody is talking about is the convertible for 2005.

Is this it?

The way things are going, I'm probably not going to get to choose between 2005 or 2004. It will probably be a 2005. So, I'd love to know.

From all I've read it's largely styling minutiae [or perhaps MINIutaie -- cheesy, I know!]...and for those fans of Indi Blue, there's a new blue they're introducing in place of IB.

I've requested detailed info from my MA as soon as it becomes available (i.e. the new MINI catalogs, etc) but I'm sure I'll find out more online than from "official channels."

Here's a link that may be somewhat helpful:
MSN Autos 2005 MINI

Also, because I ordered mine so early I negotiated to buy mine at the 2004 prices. Not a huge discount, but for a car that normally goes at (or - eek - above) MSRP, it does mean that I'll be saving some $$.
