Hi there,

I don't know if this is still true but I remember reading "someplace" that cars with a Monday build date are worse than the middle of the week builds and a Friday build date is even worse.

(This isn't specific to Mini's, automobiles in general)

1) Do you think this is true?

2) Maybe we could get a matrix of people here who have problems and compare it to people who do not. Compile the list and then compare it to the build dates.

Whatcha think?

(Maybe this has been suggested before. Apologies if this is the 3,345,384th time)

Oh yeah, my projected build date is a Friday.

Hmmmm...it would make sense. Because when I am at the office I am totally pissed about being there on a Monday, so I work annoyed....and Friday I just wanna get out of there, so I get lazy.

But I would rather have a projected Friday build than a Monday.....people tend to be in a better mood on a Friday.
I believe my build date was a Friday my Mini is wonderful so far! (*knocks on her desk which may or may not be real wood*)

That's just too dilbert-esque for me... If anything, I would think that cars built when someone was on OT would have the 'greatest' chance of being suspect...

I'm hoping the workers at MINI factory are happier than U.S. workers no matter what the day of the week. My MCS was in various stages of production on multiple days, so I think I have most days covered, except for Monday. Now if I could just figure out if it has been unloaded at the Charleston port or not.

It takes only 5 hours to assemble a MINI. Building all of the major parts (stampings, castings, engine & tranny builds) could be more or less and you'll never know what day these things are built on.

Still, Mondays should be avoided if you can ID the day your MINI is built. I remember in a Buick plant in Flint in 1969 that there were UAW guys watching the Tigers in the World Series on tiny TVs right on the assembly line. I'd hate to have been the family that bought the LeSabre built during that week!

Not that I'd ever confuse a 1960s GM line with what I hope is happening at BMW-Oxford.

Let me help you out guys - ALL PROD DATES are listed as Fridays. In other words, your MINI SHOULD be completed at some point in that week. Basically it should be completed by the end of the week, thus the Friday Prod Date.
