It seems like the majority of the R53 owners (myself included) do the basic mods (pulley, CAI, exhaust, tuner)...we gain a little HP...and then leave it at that.

I'm assuming that there are also some of you guys out there who have gone way overboard on your motors....head work, cam, stroker crank, larger SC, turbo, ported intake....on and on.....

Who's "daily driver" R53 is cranking out the most power? I'm not talking about the guys have have trailer queens that rarely get taken out of the garage.....I'm talking about daily, every day, reliable R53's. Can you list some specs on what you have done as far as motor work? How much power are you making?

Well, since nobody is chiming in, I figure I am at about 195. Compared to the rest of those that have posted, I WIN.

 

I too am very interested in this one as mine gets older. Plan on rebuild or engine/trans swap when the time comes.

What about the rumors I've heard about guys getting 300+ hp from there minis?? Just rumors??

 

They're out there, but most of them are on other boards like Motoring Underground, Motoring Alliance, and there are some badass MINIs on Mini Torque as well. I believe someone on MT is pushing 400+
