Congrats! There is no way I could have survived 1250 miles without stomping on the throttle

I don't even think could have waited it very far past the dealer's lot.

For the speeding tickets, get yourself a V1

OK, now you can try out 4500 to 6500 RPM in any gear.
Go for it. Don't forget to buckle up.
Once that gets too bland then add:
Alta intake with Hose for loud intake noise
Milltek,UUC, or Borla Race exhaust
19% reduction pulley
ECU of your choice.
Lightweight rims and sticky non runflat tires

Then try out 4500 to 6500 RPM in any gear.
Wow

Heck! I'm still just waiting to git th' durn vehicle! Actually having to drive it around slowly for gawd-knows-how-long sounds like h---! How do you get through that? Maybe that's why there are so many ways to open a decent beer on a Mini .

it's hell, I'll go ahead and warn you...

On my CVT the hardest part has been not using SD/Steptronic modes (it is far, FAR too easy to hit 4500 in these modes... while it is absolutely impossible in D without flooring it). The one time I tried SD I nailed it and hit 5k rpm briefly, then decided to save future ventures until after the break-in

I'm at 1015 miles as of this morning... so one more good tank of gas and I'll be able to really open it up. I'm seriously considering doing my own oil change at that point, as I've heard quite a bit of nasty gunk accumulates (metal shavings etc.) in the oil during break-in.

it's tough to hold it during the break in period...personally I m jux way to care about the condition of my car, so I keep myself from going over 3000rpm (4500 as required). the time for my friends to make fun of me has past...time to show them wut the JCW can do!!!!!
I m thinking of the alta intake too!!!!!! but heard it there is JCW intake coming out!!!! the SC sounds great...... finally I can see my MINI smiling... so do I!!!! haha!!!!!!!

cant wait for the the autoX coming up!!!!!!!

Thanks for that post JuanPacoLopez... I understand that there is a special tool required for the Mini's oil plug.
Anybody know? Different for the MCS vs MC? What about filter type and filter wrench?

One thing I'm not looking forward to about getting my MINI -- the break-in period! Oh so painful!! One reason I'm buying a new MINI is I need to KNOW that the car was broken in properly....but that doesn't mean I'll enjoy it! :???:

I don't have the car yet - what's the 4,500 mark mean?

H&J - 4500rpm (your recommended limit during 1250 mile break-in period)

I found my MC quite fun shifting at 3000rpm. But then again I crossed the break-in period in about 3 weeks. Then there was even more fun to be had - I seem to feel a burst of power around 4000rpm. Yum!
