Hi, I was planing on buying a MCS in a about two months but after following the yo-yo chronicles in this forum I am begining to think it would be a bad idea.

Does everyone with a MCS have this problem or are my chances of ordering a MCS and getting a dud low to none.

Thanks for any responses
Frank

Mine had it, I disconnected the bypass valve and it's gone.

My brother-in-law and I got almost twin MCSs, built in January a week apart.

Apparently, his has it, and mine doesn't. He drove mine to try to find it, but couldn't.

I reassured him that with all this negative Yo Yo attention from Ryephile and crew, he should expect to see a fix by the time he hits his first or second service interval. Let's hope I'm right.

NO, not all '04 MCS's have the Yo-Yo. I've driven several '04's the are 100% Yo-Yo free. Why the unpredictability? I can only guess that production tolerances aren't up to suitable standards.

mine had it when I first bought the car, but later found out it was more or less
how I engaged 2nd gear and how I controlled the accelerator....so changed my
timing a little bit on the gas and clutch and don't have it anymore.

Im on pre-v36.

Bear in mind that it's also a matter of degree. My 04 MCS has a very slight yo-yo, so slight that I haven't bothered trying a fix. It's only really prevalent in 2nd gear at 3000 rpm when the motor's cold.

So, you could get zero yo-yo, a little, or a lot. Just make sure that you drive your car before you buy it, in case you draw the severe yo-yo card.
