Hi! Finally decided on a car...PW/B MC..all 3 packages. I want to really deck this car out...what do you think of adding the chrome to the inside dash? Will it go with silver? I am so excited can hardly wait to get my baby!

Anybody have a front nose mask (bra) or the invisishield? How about chrome mirror covers? What do you think of these items?

Thanks in advance -

Amy

Easy there Amy! (...although your enthusiasm is laudable! ) PW/B is awesome...one of my favorite combos. All three packages...great! Chrome mirror caps might look nice w/ Cooper's chrome grill, but I haven't seen any on a PW/B. Ask for pics. As for the dash.....chrome trim pieces...yes. Chrome dash...no, no, no! Invisishield...yes. Bra...no, never!

Its delightful to hear the excitement in your voice!...don't be a stranger!

yah, don't do the black bra...do the clearbra though, especially if you're
going to get the aero bumper with aftermarket paint.

A black bra would not look good, an invisable bra would be ok, but braless would be best.

The car, I'm talking about the car.

Actually, I'm not sure about the clear bra, it might be OK. Had a black vinyl bra on a 90 Supra for a while and it was harder on the paint than risking stone chips. I have windshield pits on my MINI but no stone chips......yet.

I reccommend going with the Aero Kit, a la the Italian Job - I think the PW Cooper on there was the nicest looking of all...

All 3 packages, great. Consider adding:

1) auto dimming mirror/rain sensor
2) rear fog lights
3) black rubber floor mats
4) boot mat
5) boot mat extender to cover the rear seats when they're folded down

Have fun with your new baby!!!

And regarding mods, I'd like to suggest:

1) brake light mod
2) Euro parcel shelf

I did those and absolutely love them!

Definently attend a few local meets and see what you think of the invisi-shield first hand. Maybe the one I saw first hand wasn't right, but really check them out yourself to make your own opinion.

As for customizations, check out the sponsor dirctory link for products.

My opinion, not a fan of chrome wheels or wheel covers on the Mini. It just does not fit the car like it does many others, IMO.

Normally I hate white cars, but the PW/B is great, my wife wants one bad.

Now the rubber floor mats are sweet, the euro ones that have a circular pattern on them are the best, but I think you have to get them from Canada! The rain sensing wipers are a fantastic option I love them. There are a ton of chrome doo-dads for the interior that can spruce up the interior and make more of an indivduals car from mini-mania in the sponsor directory.

If you do not want to clean your wheels every day, you may want to consider the Mintex or EBC brake pads. The brake dust on my MCS stock pads is ridiculous.

I saw a PW/B with the rear windows tinted, and it looked slick.

PKT RKT is only the coolest car this side of Alpha Centaur, AND it has chrome mirror covers,,,why, cuz I also had a white roof and it was a bit too much white, couldn't do black wouldn't look right and at least on the left hand side, they complement the gas cap. AND the caps were SOOOO easy to install once the nice man at Classic told me how.....
Race ya.....

I love the PW/B with chrome.

I'm planning to add the chrome dash accents for the speedometer, tachometer, center vents, and shifter ring. I don't want to go overboard  I also have the aluminum pedals.
I think all of the pictures of the chrome accents on RSpeed have the silver dash. I need to see some pictures of it all with anthracite.

I can recommend the rear fog lights...I get excited when it's the least bit foggy or misty out.
Black rubber floor mats (with boot mat) look awesome. I'm picking up the boot mat extender next time I'm up in Cincinnati.

When I chose the red interior for my PW/B Cooper my MA tried to talk me out of it. I even had to put an extra $500 down because of the red interior (and no sunroof). I had seen pictures of the red with PW/B and loved it so I took the swatches book and sat in a PW/B in the showroom. To me it looks classic.

Definitely go with the clear bra ASAP before any rock chip! I like the chorme trims for the interior, but a bit costly for me.

Nice choice. Personally I like the anthracite dash. The 17" wheels a little heavy. I order the sports package ala cart. Check my signature for my specs. I highly recommend the full kit clear bra with headlight covers. You can’t really see it and it saves your paint. I drove MINI home and had the installers put it on the next day.

Yes the chrome dash rings will go with silver or any of the dash finishes.

The chrome mirror covers will do fine if you are partial to chrome. Invisishield is good if the installer is good and it is easy care. You have to install it when your MINI is new or a few nicks will sneak in rather quickly. The paint is soft and prone to chipping. Get 3M clear covers for the headlights especially if you have the xenons.

The nose bra is also OK but you do have to check on it to make sure that it is clean and nothing gets caught under it to grind against the paint. If you decide you don't like it you can always sell it.

I also thought about painting them BRG to match the color but the guy Q the classic Mini shop advised me that the mirrors would get a lot of stuff hitting them, the paint would chip eventually and the white underneath would show making it look lishe s...t. well, my Aero Kit bits are already showing some of that
