I don't know how people in the NW survive the 9-10 month wait to get a MINI, I'm 2 days into the wait for my MCS and I have a feeling this is going to be the longest 7-10 weeks ever. I got the production number from the dealer but its still showing a different car, mine won't show up for a week they say.

Oh no! I'm thinking of getting one (In the D.C. area) -- should I order ASAP?!?!

7-10 weeks IS a long time....plus, with the weather getting better and better.....just makes you want to take a spin!

You might as well order it. You just go in, tell them whan you want, they build it for you online and then tell you how much its going to cost. Give them 1000 bucks for a totally refundable depostit and they start building it for you. The deposit is refundable at any time too, even when they deliver the car, they'd have no prroblem selling it if you don't want it.

I actually got mine at MINI of Sterling, about 20 miles out of DC, very nice people, but for some reason you have to have insurance to test drive, that makes no sense. If I don't have a car, I probably don't have insurance, and how am I supposed to test drive one? When I test drove one in January at the MINI dealership in Portland, OR they didn't care about insurance at all, and they had a great twisty road to test it on too.

I was thinking of going to the Sterling MINI dealership next weekend (I don't have a car right now so I have to wait to hitch a ride there). :???:

I can't believe they want you to have insurance to test drive, though! Hmm...maybe I should try to find another place to test drive first. I've heard *great* things but it's fairly obvious that I'd like to at least drive one before I buy it!

Are you guys still able to track your MINI across the ocean? That was the best part of the wait for me! Don't ask me how as I forgot, but it's in here somewhere.

There's a MINI dealership in Towson, MD and apparently one in Annapolis, MD as well. Maybe they have different policies, I'd call and ask, I wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first (luckily I got to test drive the one in Portland, OR).

7-10 weeks will go by fast if you use it to learn more about the MINI on this site and post a few.

A 9-10 month wait is possible but there are alternatives like finding a MINI somewhere else from Hawaii to New York or Florida and all points between that have the MINI of your choice in stock. Shipping isn't all that bad and in a few weeks you could have your MINI for motoring.

The wait is very hard, but thankfully this site and others has lots of information so I can be ready for the car when it arrives. Suggest down loading the owners manual so you can have it committed to memory before you car get here.

I dunno, I think reading this site and other stuff about the MCS is making the wait WORSE!! Every article or anything related to the MCS I read just makes me want it more!! Of course, if it was here now, I'd have to be paying for it

Ohh, stop. I'm 3 months into an 8 to 10 MONTH wait for my JCW MCS! Okay, I'll admit it, this is my choice, since the money for the car won't come free until about then. Not only that, I'm driving my MC very happily while waiting for my S, the best of all possible scenarios whilst waiting for the upgrade

I't's been two weeks since we ordered our MCS. They only asked us to put down $500. Should we have a production number by now? I haven't recieived anything.

Where are you from? That sounds like the wait out in the PNW.

Only 500 down? I had to put down twice that, I wonder what the deal is. I recieved my production number the day after I ordered mine, I'd call the dealer.

Yup, Pacific Northwest it is. I'm working through Rasmussen MINI, the only Oregon dealership. $500 deposit? I put up a $1000 refundable deposit, and hadn't heard of dealerships taking less than that.

Who's your dealer? I went there over winter break for a test drive and the Rasmussen lady was the one helping me out, she's pretty hot

Big up to the PNW , I'm from Battle Ground, WA, not too far from there, I'm going to school in DC though.
