R50/53 LED accent lighting....good, or "ricer"??
LED accent lighting....good, or "ricer"??
I had a few pieces of blue LED light strips laying around from another project I was working on. I'm thinking about adding a little "accent lighting" to my mini....something subtle.
I'm experimenting with lighting up the area behind the grill with a little blue light. What do you think.......does it look ok, or so you think "punk kid ricer" as soon as you see it?
Just wondering.....

I think it's a bit distracting. Would you have a toggle switch for them? I don't think I would like driving around with them all the time but perhaps when you get behind someone slow at night it would be cool
Be warned, in most places any blue exterior lights are illegal.
Blue is a police color and they do not look kindly on other cars having blue lights. Having said that, I seen plenty of cars with blue lights on the road.

IQ, I've seen pics of your car and it's progress, and really like it. THAT, however, seems to be a step in the wrong direction.

Personally I don't care for any sort of aftermarket LED lighting but that's just me. I'm from the VW/Audi scene and ever since Audi started using LED DRL's there were a ton of people who rigged them up on their VW's (mostly R32's). I've always loved the way they look on the Audi's since they're integrated into the styling, but have never cared for how they look on anything else since they never seem to flow properly with the styling. But again, that's just me, I know there are many who disagree.
As far as the blue lighting, it would be cool if you were a volunteer fireman since that's the color for their lights in our area, then you could use that instead of one that sticks to the roof of the car or sits on the dash.
