Very doubtful it will go on sale for less than the $4500 list price. I have it and love it - much more powerful than stock and lots of fun!

Actually it's $1000-1500 for installation depending on your dealer.

Assael here outside of L.A. tried to deal with me to get the Works when I got my car in December - told me they had 11 kits in stock and were willing to deal. They just weren't willing to deal enough... I told them I'd do it for $4500 installed they said no way.

No, I mean it is available for purchase. The usual premium pricing still applies.

I had JCW kit installed at Classic in early January when the car was new. They offered one of the best price - $5520 installed. I remembered when I called around for a price quote, many dealers had plenty of JCW kits in stock. I have a feeling that the demand isn't what BMW predicted.

The price for the kit seems to be the same at all the dealerships I called . The variable is in the installation charge.

I have the same upgrades and more for alot less then a JCW and when I took on a JCW to see who was qicker I knew I made the right choice. The JCW was in the rear view the whole time.

Most of the dealerships that I talked to, have them in stock and a few have quite a bit in stock. I hope BMW reads into this correctly. It is not the kit that is bad, but the price. If the kit was in the $3500 range installed, I think it would be a much better deal. $5500 and they get to keep all the old parts, is ridiculous. I think the kit has a real value, but just because it is BMW, they can't just slap any price they want on it and expect it to sell. Sure a few people will buy it, but no the masses.

Even items like the Mini Fini cup holder. $65 for a piece of plastic that can't cost anymore than $5 to make. And then to charge 15 minutes for installation. They can't keep holding this price model for long.

If you guys are BMW CCA members I believe the dealer will honor a discount on your JCW kit. When I had my MCS I was considering it and asked about the discount and they said they would honor it. 5% - 10% discount is a helluva lot of savings for a $35 membership.

Looking at the John Cooper site in the UK, it seems the JCW kit for the MC will be about $3k plus installation. That's a lot of money for 11hp.

For what it's worth the MINI FINI Cup holder retails for $35.

As a member of the BMWCCA and the Chicago MINI Motoring Club I've enjoyed many a discount (both 10-20% depending on the dealer). However from my experience most BMW dealers will only discount you the parts if you buy them over the counter. Typically they don't discount anything that they install. However if you find one that does take advantage of it

Not true... I purchased touch-up paint, cd changer, rubber floor mats and mat extension all at CCA discount.

Currently I know of no mass markdown of JCW kits for the MCS. In my area they are still $6000 installed.
Also they are in short supply. Maybe one available currently where I am.

One thing you have to remember is that there is a money conversion taking place with JCW in the UK and the installation labor is done at your dealer and would be minimum of 10 hours no matter what the price of the kit itself.
Labor rate is about $100 per hour.

It is up to your individual dealer to agree to a discount using BMW CCA. Nothing is really written down so it will vary but it typically applieds to items bought at the parts dept or for clothing and accesories.
