Call your insurance company and inquire about what your coverage might be able to do for you. Maybe nothing but sometimes you can be surprised. Or you can call a local salvage yard and ask if they have a used one or can locate a used one.

I'll sell you a mirror but the whole car will come with it. might be more than you want to pay for a mirror though.

Seriously now, have you checked salvage yards?

Shouldn't comprehensive insurance cover this? Sure you'll pay a deductible, but in my case, $200 is probably cheaper than a new mirror from BMW.

New mirror from BMW, motor n all is around $250, I called and asked today. I'm waiting for Way to get back to his shop on Monday and see how much I can get a used one from him for.

Technically both? They broke it off at the part where it twists, then took it... So it's essentially useless to them without the base..

Maybe you got lucky...maybe it got hit....and broke away...
+1 on getting a used one from wmw, he usually has a wreck or two he is parting out, and short of getting lucky finding a mini with the right part locally in a junkyard, i think he is a good place to start. Good luck!

I can look when I get home but I might have a link to a site that posts parts from various salvage yards across the country. You can search for the parts you are looking for and contact them and have the part shipped to you. But I thought the idea to contact Way Motor Works had merit.

car-part.com is good

For MINI specialists, check mazda mini recycling in Rancho Cordova, CA

Way is probably your best bet.

Way is also the closest, I live in FL, but he's over at MM7 right now.. :P
Well, I'd have to wait till Monday before anything happened, so it's alright.
