Not regular ones but there are specific brands out there that's designed their brace with a guard. Check out M7. It's a much more robust base for protection.

Look for the ones that mount from the bottom. That design makes more sense to me. Check out Mini Madness and Craven.

Not sure what that means but if you're trying to say something, spit it out.

This is the M7 Brace with anti-mushrooming plate.

i have the M7 brace and plates. i had to do some work to get the hood from bulging. i cut the rubber around my alta CAI to rest more easily and took off the hood liner and cut a little out where the bar is on the underside of the liner. there is still a tiny bulge, but to be honest, i've completely forgotten about it.

Here is the one I found and looking to get myself. Seems like one of the lower prices out there I have found so far.

I picked up one from DINAN. They are going to go back to concentrating on BMW's so they are selling all of their MINI stuff at a discount. I got mine for about 1/2 price. Seems very stiff, has plates that should help with the mushrooming, and looks nice.

those are the strut bars we are talking about, the M7 strut tower brace has thick plates that almost completely stop mushrooming (anything will break under the right conditions )

Strut Tower Bracing

Here is what I did to my 2006 MCS to stop mushrooming of strut towers. Ordered them off of EBay for $68.
