subframe stuck..WTH

subframe stuck..WTH

ok so im servicing a bad rack n pinion. heres what I did. i removed everything needed to get the subframe off...bolts holding the frame, wires connecting the psp, bolts from the strut holding, low engine mount. bolt connecting stairing rod to rack n pinion. when i lower the frame..everything is lose except the rack n pinion and the stairing road BUT theres no bolts there????? wth????? any idea what could be holding it?

Did you disconnect the power steering tank from the fire wall?

You can get the rack out without lowering the subframe. I know it's not really helping your situation, but if you ever have to mess with it again, you can wiggle it out from the side.

Yessir...the hose would've teared if anything. From what I can see it's stuck at the starting rod and rack n pinion..any clue on how to nudge it loose?

The P/S tank and hoses can get caught on the engine bay and hold the rack hung up on the frame.

May I respectfully suggest that you edit your post to make clear that you are referring to the 'steering rod' (which is what protrudes from the steering column and connects the steering wheel to the rack n pinion) rather than the 'stairing road.'
