Hi, I noticed a big sound and shake when I shifted the gear from P to D today. hmm, nothing to worry about I said to myself.
However I immediatly noticed the gear indicator is showing a "EP" instead of the usual "D/SD", and paddle shift stopped working. I also noticed it seems to stick with gear 1 or 2 and has trouble pulling the car forward at normal speed.
Oh the service light turned on too.

I guess I need to see a mechanic ASAP, I'm interested to know what's your thoughts? and if it can be a DIY job.

FYI my car is a 2006 S with paddle shift, milage is around 50k.

What color is the service light ? Red or yellow ?

Red means pull over and dont drive it anymore.

Yellow is typically call for an appointment with your MINI service dept.

Sorta need to get the code for the CEL before determining if it's something you can do yourself.....
