Hey everyone. My MCS finally is in my garage

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their help with questions and whatnot. This makes the ownership expierence EVEN better!

For those of you in the Metro Detroit area, this morning wasn't the best
weather, was it? Well I picked her up today. Bad drive back along M59-
MCM to my place (Sq. Lk and Telegraph) was rush-hour ish at 40 minutes,
my top speed was about 60. Average was 34.5

Here's what I-75 looked like between sq. lake and M59 (northbound), as
usual, a few SUV's that made love to the retaining wall or ditch . Also a Subie Outback???

I had her updated with v36, thanks chad for the last minute advice! I didn't
notice a yo-yo. Tho I was pretty focused on driving, and keeping away from
crap. A semi threw a *huge* chunk of crap at the windshield. Thought I was
going to get a crack, fourtunately, it didn't. Everything seemed tight, tho
I notice a small rattle from bass on the rear speakers, and the right door
speaker rattles. I plan on the usual fixes on the site. Otherwise, NO rattles
noticable. I guess I'll know in a few thousand miles???

In my driveway-

Out with the old (my vette, gone in 2 weeks) and the MCS  With the
blowing snow on the highway, it was a "Rear-fog light" day indeed!!!

I pulled her in the garage, threw the heaters on and did a quick cleanoff. Also plan to detail it, when possible. Zaino and Lexol here I come!!! Not perfect, but it stayed pretty clean- suprisingly. I have a Chevy Prizm until March to drive, so the MCS will get only *perfect* road use. I am debating about a trickle charger, good idea?

cheers,

-Matt

Congrats,

Great photos but what is that white stuff? Here in San Diego it is 57 degrees at 11:40 so it will warm up a little.

Again Congrats on a great looking MCS. Enjoy, I know you will

Congrats on your delivery, Matt!

Indeed a bad time to pick up a new MINI here in MI, with the blizzard over the past few days, YUK!

Motor-On,
Ryan

Congrats! Do you have all season tires? How does it handle in the snow?

Like you, it was snowing when I pulled out of the dealer's lot upon delivery. I did discover how well the car handles in the snow.

Great looking car Matt!

I kept my MCS indoors for its first winter too. My garage stays about 55 degrees, so I didn't use a trickle charger, just weekly warm ups of about 15 minutes each. If your garage gets real cold, a charger may work best.

ps the battery is in the boot on the MCS.

Motor On Dude!

Love the pictures of your car in the snow. Don't get much snow here in Arkansas so me and the other Arkansas MINI owner will probably not get to try out our MINI's snow ability.......but that's OK.

Great color, if I could have gotten Electric Blue on my MC I would have.

Hey guy's, even tho the snow was bad- even WORSE today with it all melting My Prizm is tan car turned white! All kinds of crap on the roads here  DSC get's angry, tho, for wheel-spin. I actually stalled it going up the driveway, because it scolded me for wheelspin...

The car slides different from others I'm used to, but correcting is easier (IMHO). For trickle charging, I can access that from the front, correct? Connect it to the + terminal and - to the silver engine bracket? Based on the roads, I don't think I'll be driving her for a while My garage is attached to the house, so it usually skirts around freezing or a little above.

I suppose so, as the terminal is there for jump starting as well. I have yet to trickle charge mine. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work.

zxfr,
Erik808 and I are in Hawaii so we don't see much white stuff.
If your MCS was pepper white you might loose it- except for the antenna.
Enjoy.

Here is our white stuff-

oh man i wish i could be surfing right now......

also i love the vette in the background covered in snow...you can also hook up the carger there like you said. but you really shouldn't have to unless it is going to be a really long time. i am sure you will be able to drive once or twice a month even this time of year. you know you want to..

aaaah, erik- quite honored  I also have the "high-res" photos- you can find
them @ these links:
Mini and Snow 1
Mini and Snow 2
they might look better for a background...

I was itching to drive her today, but the roads are still icky (melting snow/salt spray) BLEH! I'm hoping later this week it will clean up a bit. My sidestreet is messy as heck too

Sorry guys and gals, but I've been in Iraq for a year now and I haven't seen the inside of my MINI S yet. But, I have seen many pics of the MINI Cooper dash, and that first picture doesn't look familiar as being the MINI dash that I've seen. Is that something new that MINI has done to the post Dec. 2003 build dates? Do you pictures of the dash you can show? Thank You.
