Best year

What consider the best year for MINI Cooper?
What I mean, with less interior/exterior & mecahnical problems.
What year has a better performance.

i think that is a tough question.. i would say best is determined by the user and maintenance.. i have an 03MCS with only maintenance investements.. original clutch at 130k miles and rock solid overall.. but its how you use it and care for it vs how it rolled off the production line.

so my vote is my mini you could say that later in the production cycle the better due to fixes they implement **Caution that some changes could be cost savings**

phil.

05-06. All the bugs had been worked out before the R56 came about. Better tranny, no more power steering fires, fuse issues, etc.

Performance? 06 JCW or one of the GP's.

But I love my 2005 S. 125,500+ miles and still chugging!

I read where the 2008 is very reliable (Consumer Reports). And...its what I own. No problems or issues here!

05-06 is the most common opinion, but MINIdave makes a solid point

I found this document to be very helpful when deciding on which MINI to get.

They all have their own little quirks but definitely the 05/06 MCS.

I'm going to go with 2006 MCS. Get one in excellent condition with good maintenance records.

Has to be Mid-2006. Though my 2001 Cooper (touch wood!) has been very good to me over 1 year, 11k miles and at times so very hard driving - Just the one rattle, very strong PAS Pump, and only a new box/clutch which should last another few years (The one it replaced was the original!)

I think it is all down to maintenance and how you treat the car to be honest, I know of '06s that have been a complete disaster!
