My wife and I are expecting our first child in May 2004. It's a boy! What do you think about the name Cooper?

Sounds great to me!

I'm assuming Cooper will be an "S" since you will soon become very familiar with his supercharged whine

What options have you chosen?

Definitely get the nav system so he doesn't ever get lost, and I hear the genuine leather on those Coopers is soft as a baby's bottom (although there is no guarantee it will not wrinkle over time)

I think Cooper is great for a boy's name. Very cute!

I think it's a great name too. But as someone who is named after a certain vehicle and being hassled about it all my life, just be careful if the boy is small in stature. They will be calling him Mini Cooper.

Regards,
"Red"

A good friend of ours' son is named Cooper. He is five so pre-dates the current MINI phenomenon. I do like the name but do prepared to be hasseled if you own a MINI.

Congrats! I met a couple this summer that had named their child, "John Cooper" for first and middle names. He is now 20 years old and I was told he was driving a MCS! Of course, he had the JWC badge on it.

Understand by doing this you will probably be buying or handing him down a Mini for his first car!

Alright, thanks for all the support. His name will most likely be something other than cooper cuz I don't want to name him after my car but his middle name may end up being Cooper.

It's funny I also have a Dodge Dakota and my wife likes the name Dakota for a girl so for a while it was going to be Dakota or Cooper and that is when I thought it was a little strange. But now that we know it's a boy maybe we should revisit the name.

look for my future posts about 'baby seats that fit in the back seat' and 'how to get the spit stains out of my tan leather interior'.
