R50/53 Personal plate suggestion, please!!!
Before I register the car next week, I'm considering personalized plate. DMV here allows 6 characters. I'm thinking of SWORKS, JC WORK, JC WRKS, or JCW MCS. Any other suggestion???
>>Obviously you want your upgrade known...
Not really! I just think most of the ones associated with MINI are probably taken. I have a better chance with WORKS or variations of it. As you can tell, I don't have much imagination.

Okay, how 'bout MOSCA?
It's the Spanish word for "Fly" as in the insect.
But it's also a term of endearment for something small, like the MINI.
Stretching it . . . "Fly" as in cool. "Fly" as in Aero. "Fly" as in speedin' along the freeway/road. "Fly" as in Super Fly. Take your pick.

How about
WKSMNI
or
DWORKS (the works)
sorry, I am not very good at this, my wife came up with my plate, COOPR.S

My plate is SCURVES in CA I got 7 letters. How about SCURVS.
Also in CA you can go to the DMV web site and try you plate configuration and see if it is available -- don't know if you can do that where you are.

>>Once you have a few choices in hand, call your local DMV and ask them over the phone if your choices are available. I was able to do that here in St. Louis. Good luck!
In CA I had to go to the DMV and get in line (which was outside of the door) and wait about 20 minutes to get a ticket with a number and then wait to be called to a window. I got my number, drove about five miles to the bank, took care of stuff there, got a coke at a drive thru, when back to the DMV and stilll had to wait 35 minutes to get to the window. :???:
There is one phone number for the entire state and they don't know what their doing.

Ouch! Sounds like the situation at the 'downtown' St. Louis DMV. We moved out to the 'burbs' and the two times I've been to the DMV there were just a couple of people! When I called, the nice lady seemed quited pleased to be on the phone helping me try out all sorts of plate combinations!

Well, I would consider what I want my vanity plates to do.
Further describe the car that already has a name badge on it?
WORKS, S WORKS, WERKES, JCW ETC all do that.
Describe some characteristic or capability of the car?
MINIMINI, MINIME, CURVES, QT4U,
Send a message?
BACK OFF, TI-3VOM, IXLR8, I 8 N SVT
Have visual impact?
I QQ I, LQQK, II II II, EOO3, XOXOX
I elected visual impact with my plate I QQ I. Getting closer to your query, are you sure you want the topic of your vanity plate to be a further description of the car, or have you thought about the other possibilities?

I prefer the anonymity of the state issued random numbers and letters.
It is harder for someone to "get the license plate of that guy" if it does not spell out something they can easily remember.
Plus, I don't like to pay optional taxes. . . .
But if I did choose an interesting plate it would be:
SML-AXE, referring to the Bob Marley song, Small Axe
"If you are the big tree, let me tell you that
We are the small axe, sharp and ready
Ready to cut you down
To cut you down"

Why not let the plate say something about the driver or how the driver feels. For example, my vanity plate says SUV 2BIG. Being that it's on a Mini Cooper I feel the message is obvious.
Being in medicine as you are you might want to consider a possibility there. I am an anesthesia resident and thought about getting the plate GASMAN for a long while before I settled on SUV 2BIG.
There is a thread on here from some time ago that listed many versions of vanity plates. Might want to do a search and see if you can find it since it had a lot of good ideas in it if I remember correctly.
Good luck.

Every time I see this thread reappear I start to laugh. Am I missing something here – I must be. If someone else gives you an idea about a plate it’s not your idea, so it’s not personal. If it’s going to be a personal you need to think of it yourself, not someone else.
