R53 headlights

I have searched for a while but can not find a good company and price for my R53 xenon headlights. I have the OEM ones but because a semi had a blowout and a piece of tire took out my passenger headlight cover, I have been looking for some bi xenons with angel eyes. Since I am going to replace the headlightfor a better version, I might as well make it look good too.

Anyone have any info or pics?

Thanks

what year is your car? the 2005-06 has the best headlights (projectors)

anything else aftermarket with 'angel eyes' will be low quality halogen projectors.

Have you checked ebay? just make sure you level them properly so they won't blind people.

I have Xenons and would like to stay with them and upgrade to a whiter/blue-ish light. Somewhere in the 8000-9000 kelvin range. Are these Xenon? It does not say.

I was looking at these...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mini-...Q5fAccessories

But they are Halogen..

Anyone know if it is possible to keep the oem xenon ballast and convert a set of halogens over using these ballasts to xenons? It seems stupid to take out a set of xenons, buy some halogens and then buy a conversion kit on top of that just to get back to xenons.

All I need is a passenger side Xenon w/ washer but if I can find a new set of Xenons for a relatively good price or like the ones posted above and convert them using the xenon ballasts that came with the car I will do that.

If anyone can find any LH xenon headlightw/washer. It will be greatly appreciated.

Here is something to consider. The OEM 2003 Xenons are known to go bad. They periodically come up on eBay cheap with no bulbs or control unit. With some heat you can actually remove the cover and replace yours. And do a Joey Mod while you're in there.

So its possible to keep the xenon ballast and use it on a halogen headlight. Is that what your suggesting?

those ebay ones are NOT xenon so they are not nearly as bright.

Just find a replacement for your one broken one, it will be cheaper in the long run.

I just have a hard time justifying $550 for a headlight (which is cheaper than some that I have found).

The dealer even told me that they do not sell headlights seperately so I would pay about $1500 for the set.

Thats why I was thinking of converting a halogen set using the existing xenon components. I have never tinkered around with halogens or xenon headlights for that matter but I am sure (actually I hope) it can be done. While doing some research on halogen lights to xenon lights conversion I came across this site: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=531559 Any thoughts?

here are a few DIY's that I have come across.

http://www.odometergears.com/subpage...dlight_FAQ.pdf

http://www.bmwdiy.info/celis-front/index.html

It looks as if its possible. At the moment it seems as though it might be as simple as mounting the xenon ballast to the set of HID headlights and replacing the bulb to xenon. If so, then it would be a good afternoon DIY.

The only thing I can not figure out is the auto-leveling function. The set of lights that I purchase must be able to work with this function. Like these....

If anyone can dig up a DIY for Mini's that would be

Once I get this started I will make a DIY with photos and post it in NAM.
