R50/53 New Baby Just Arrived
I just wanted to let you all know that I am now one a proud few owners of a MINI. Just picked up my baby yesterday and will be trying real hard to keep it under 4500rpm until 1250 mi rolls up on the speedo...Not so easy...
The offical birth certificate reads:
MCS/Dark Silver/black roof
White tail lights (looks awesome)
Chrome mirrors (another awesome look that adds to monochromatic theme I was shooting for)
JCW
BMP Cold air intake
Alloy Patina
Black Leatherette
16" silver wheels
(more details I won't bore you with...but that should give you a vision of the exterior)
Once I read the how to post picture, I will share my good fortune with all of you...
Thanks to all of you that helped me with the options before I ordered..
ciao
...leave the gun..take the canollis.....

Congratulations, sounds like a dream come true. I've only got about NINE MORE MONTHS! to wait for my JCW MCS, thought I'm currently driving a PS/B MC, making the wait very easy to bear. If this is your 1st MINI, you're certainly doing it right.
I thought it kind of a joke when my MA cautioned me not to take it above 95 or 45000 rpms during break in. Not that hard...or so I thought. Within three miles of tollway I was cruising at 90 and hadn't even realized. And I just have a plain MC.
Good luck with break in, and enjoy the very cool MCS!

mikebike,
Welcome and congrats.
A new MCS with JCW kit and white tail lights, BMP intake and chrome mirrors!
Light 16" stock wheels-good choice.

I don't think it is 95 mph! or 45,000 rpms!
I thought break in was not above 65 mph or 4,500 rpms for 1250 miles or so.

Hmmmm.. a naming party, never thought of that, sounds like fun...where and when?
Wow!!! what a day of motoring..can't wait till tomorrow..this car totally rocks (and i'm not even going above 4500 rpm yet..can't imagine what it's going to be like after the break in)....can't remember when a car brought me this much fun...
Hard getting use to everyone eyeballing, stopping, staring and pointing at the car...
Kudos to Mini of Peabody MA, great people and dealership...glad I didn't go to the OTHER dealer in MA

Congratulations on your new arrival! I desperately wanted the JCW package, but just couldn't pony up the extra $6K. I hear good things about the overall performance increase. My MCS arrived on my birthday (12/6) via covered car carrier all the way from Mini of the Hamptons to my front door step in So Cal. Dark silver, loaded W/ Wht roof, stripes and mirrors. This car reminds me of my first cafe' racer which was a '70 Datsun 510--although this stock CooperS would have clearly kicked the Datsun's butt--even with the bored-over 2000cc motor and the Weber side-draft carbs. The MCS sticks to the road like glue. I've taken great pleasure in surprizing all these young kids driving Lexus is300's as I pull away through the tough turns. I hope you enjoy your ride as much as I have over the last few weeks! Cheers--
