actually its far from wonderful. those idiots completely ruined my sunroof flag!
I took my car in to get the latest software update and they said "oh would you like us to clean your car?" and i said sure cause it was pretty dirty. Now theres a chunk missing from the flag and the whole thing is ripping and flapping on the highway. Hassel says they'll pay to replace it which is good.... but damn it... the name says it all hassel bmw...
do yourself a favor and stay FAR FAR away from hassel mini!

I've noticed swirl marks in my clear coat after letting my dealer (Ferman) wash my car. No more... From now on I'll put a piece of strapping tape on the stearing wheel with a note that says PLEASE DO NOT WASH.
Your story doesn't sound too bad at least they were nice enough to replace decal. I had to buff mine to lessen the swirl marks.

After coming to the realization that "washing" simply meant running my car through a machine, I've passed on their "washing" offers since ops:

I've had the same problem. i will no longer go to HASSEL Mini for anything. In fact, I regret ever buying my car there. The forst week I had it, the shift cable broke and I had to get it towed there in 15 degree weather. After it sat there for two days on top of taking a chunk out of one of the rims they "washed" it and ruined it. I took it back and made a big stink and got them to detail it and replace the rim with a new one. Then my steering went. They had to replace the entire rack and pinion and to my dismay those f-in slobs got steering fluid ALL OVER THE PLACE. They are so unprofessional its not even funny. Once again they washed my car, after I told them not to and ruined it again. This time I detailed it myself. I will never let them touch my car again, I won't even let them LOOK at it. To make things worse my windshield just developed the infamous "CRACK" and needs to be replaced. I will be going to HASSETT Mini in Huntington for that. Fro my birhtday my fiance got me the MINI FINI cup holder, Hassel wouldn;t accomodate her in any way and was straight up nasty to her. The guys at Hassett took care of her right away, stayed late for her to pick it up and were very nice and I will be going there for all my service needs from now on.

I was going to say that at least they did the right thing after some way underpaid smuch messed it up. Reading Manny's post gives me a totally different impression. There are some really nice dealers and some really bad ones. Especially since price can't be dickered, it seems even more important to squawk to others when mistreated and that as close to a boycott as can happen occurs.

I wish I had benefit of more dealer choices in my area, but so far feel very good about doing business with Bill Jacobs in Chicagoland.*

*no I don't work for them, but I am kissing up just in case

My dealership here in NJ really sucked.....BIG TIME!!!!!!! I am sooooooo fed up with their crap and the BIBLICAL MINI WARRENTY, I decided to go to a private shop who has done custom work on Porsches, BMW's Benzes and MINI's. This is a total body/mod/engine/tranny/ shop and will reapir or build anything for your car. I used them to do custom work on my 911 and will solely use them for all my work on the MINI. They are excellent to deal with, will stand behind all work and ONLY employ certified techs. They do all upgrades for engine, exhaust, or any performance mods you may want. MINI can stick their warrenty and so can the dealer. I know that there are some EXCELLENT dealerships out there.........unfortunatly the closest one to me is not one of them.

the thing is though, i've taken my car through a car wash with the decal on... so they had to have been pretty damn harsh with it for it to rip and peel like that.
