My boyfriend works for a VW performance shop in Maryland....they were a sponsor of an event at the beach this weekend so on Friday after work my roommate and I packed the Mini and went down there to hang out.....
The show was both days, and both times I parked in the area where the shop guys were showing their cars. I had seen two other Minis down there, but mine was the only one actually at the show.....
The attention she got was rediculous! When Tiffany and I drove in this morning, the VW people were filming, clapping, yelling, gawking, giving thumbs up.....whatever you can think of.....
When the Mini was parked with the other shop cars, she brought a HUGE draw....(which I know made Nate and his coworkers happy.)
My little Mini was a big star at the show!

Very cool L. Mini!

I did the same thing last night. An informal GTG of over 70 VW/Audi/BMW and MINI's showed up. My MINI had it's bonnet up and down about a half dozen times.

Great pics! My best friend drives a 337....he couldn't make it out to the show, but about 12 other 337's did....all in a row (they looked so great!) I love those BBS wheels, too! I'm not sure how many people actually made it to this one, but it was pretty crowded...if you are around on the VW scene you might know about the H2O show in Ocean City, MD.....it was a great time and we had great weather! (Actually I'm a little sunburned, but that's all right.....)
I got some great pics of some cool cars that were there.....although there was this yellow Golf, I believe it was a MK2, but it had a Buick tail light conversion.....REALLY bizarre.

Anyway, it was a great time!

 

Heh, I gave up my VW New Beetle in order to buy my MINI. The quality difference is simply amazing, seeing as how the base prices are very close, as are the engine specs. Go MINI! Ehe.

Very pretty dub you have there! My boyfriend has a MK1 Rabbit that is just beautiful, so that is the VW in our little family.....
I was actually in the market for one until I met the Mini......I knew it was the car for me!

That;s awesome.. I get the biggest response in my MCS from people in Jettas.. kinda weird. I had just bought a 2000 GTI VR6 then a month later they announced the Cooper coming out. Trading that GTI in was the best thing I ever did. I actually ended up with 2 GTI's because the first one was a complete lemon.. brand new.. go figure.
