R50/53 Would you hit and run?
This is a sad day. I was pulling into a parking lot and a girl in a Crown Vic hits my back wheel. I stop and jump out of my car to immediately apply a little TLC to my ailing MCS (yet to be named). As I do this, this girl flies off before I have time to get her license number. Luckily there was no real damage, but it still chaps my a**. Since I am a student the police have narrowed the search using parking passes. I hope they give her a fat ticket. I mean a hit and run is one thing, but not taking the time to make sure my baby (the MCS) wasn't hurt really puts me over the top. I mean who can resist the MINI?
Who would hit and run? I mean c'mon.
All in all, I'm not bitter, just went home and gave my baby a wash and a fresh coat of wax.

If a Crown Vic hit your car light enough to not do any damage, chances are the person behind the wheel didn't even realize they hit you. After all you're talking about quite a large sized gunboat there.
I bet the other driver had no clue what was going on with the windows up and radio going.
Makes me want to arm myself with a whistle and blow it loudly when I see a "rules infraction".
Otherwise I might be tempted to keep a bat handy (and it don't mean the mammal that flys).

If you feel she really knew she hit you, don't let this matter drop. Keep on the police to find her. You will probably have to press charges or the police won't do anything. Damage or no damage, its hit & run and I'd nail her As_.
Is it legal to carry a loaded paint ball gun in your car? If so, it would be sweet to put a nice red splotch on the rear window of the offender. Then you tell the police to look for the land yacht with the red splotch. Next step...mug shots!

I bet the trunk monkey would have had the lightning-fast reflexes to immobilize her vehicle before she could leave the area.

my old 71 2002 was the victim of a hit and run a few years ago. if there was a bright side to it, my insurance (state farm) paid for the damages w/o any hassle. since there was no other driver to file a report, there was no debate about who was at fault or any of that.
A little over 10 years ago, my wife and I were victims of a hit and run. A drunk totaled our car at 3:30 in the afternoon! leaving both of us injured (requiring hospitalization). To this day, I can forgive the perp. for colliding with us but not for leaving us for dead. That is a far worse crime. And believe me, even though it's been a decade, if I ever get my hands on that SOB....
Would I ever consider running from a crime scene? Not on YOUR life!

I was the target of road rage Wed. evening. Apparently, whatever I did (?) irked the driver enough to throw something. No idea what it was, but heard it hit the passenger side door. I look over at a 5 thugs in an olds, wavin and given me the finger. They wanted me to pull over apparently so they might beat my *** (in their words, I was a pus#!! too--5 on 1, right). Rather, I slowed and tried to get their tag. They realized and sped off. I gave chase momentarily but gave up, they were cutting some mean gaps on a busy street. I didn't care to put others in that much danger. (I could have easily caught them with superior MINI handling in all, but why? During this I got a call off to the police and they notified me to pull over and stop so they might write up a claim for insurance. I got out and checked and no visible, if any, damage.
Sorry for the story. Bottom line, pretty sturdy paneling.

If she new she hit you, then she had something to hide. Something large enough to risk a leaving the scene of a accident court case. She wasn't supposed to be driving that car, she has no license, no insurance, expired or stolen plate, something ...
I saw a hit a run on a busy street maybe 10 years ago. I got next to the guy at the next light, I informed him that he needed to go back, and he agreed. He then ditched me at the next light with a last minute turn. When I went back to give his plate # to the officers at the scene, he said that plate number belonged to a late model Mercedes. Then he looked at the woman who just got hit and said, 'I wouldn't listen to anything this guy has to say, he was probably involved and is now trying to through us off track" He realy showed why we should hope he never makes detective.
2 months later the victim calls to inform me that a real detective had decided to go investigate the Mercedes. There it was in the driveway, with no plate. Parked next to it was the car involved in the accident. Aparently the kids Dad was in Europe on buisness, so the kid having lost his license, decided to put it on his 78 Cordoba. Then the idiot continued to drive with his fathers palte on his car for at least six weeks after doing a hit and run. If he had put the plate back and dumped the Cordoba, he probably would have gotten away with it.
Leaving the scene is a desperate act, that to answer your original question, I cannot concieve ever doing. Hope it all works out ....
