R50/53 Cant find rain gutter piece?
Cant find rain gutter piece?
I'm missing the ~5" piece if rain gutter over the front drivers side pillar. It looks like it just snaps on so I guess it either blew off or someone really wanted a sample of my awesome car
It doesn't seem like a really expensive piece, but I can't find it anywhere. I don't want to go the dealership route cause Ill pay more for shipping than I will for the part.
Anybody seen one?
Thanks again guys, Nick

Some parts are dealership only for new.
Personally, I would try a junkyard. This is a classic example of a part you can look at and see if it is OK. If it snaps off easy, it should go on easy too. Looking at it will tell you if it is what you need or not.

That piece can only be purchased along with the entire drip rail. The drip rail itself is probably going to run you 55-75 dollars.
I had the same thing happen to me. Turns out the person that owned the car before took it to a pretty sketchy place to have the windshield done, and they tore the front area up pretty well.
Sorry, I know this isn't what you want to hear. Just get it from the dealer as shipping will probably wind up being exorbitant because of the box's dimensions.

Yep, got mine (the whole gutter piece) from the stealership. Cost around 80 bucks with tax. I then unclipped the part I needed and snapped it onto my car. It took a little fussing but it finally went on. Been through the drive-thru car wash maybe 4 times now and it has stayed put.
Be careful when removing the (in-tact) drip rail. The front piece that you are missing has a receiver for a nub, so trying to force one off will wind up breaking it just like your current one.
To remove it you will need to peel off your door seal, undo the four screws that hold the drip edge to the roof, unclip from the rear, slide forward slightly and you should be able to get everything off safely!

Just priced it at the dealer and they want $119 for the rain rail. Mine is loose, so i guess i better hit it with something sticky!

Also, if it is loose, try removing the rail and re-installing it. It could be that the little portion at the front just wasn't installed correctly. Mine for some reason had come loose after I had installed it. After re-installation, all was good.

Aw, that's not what I wanted to hear ! I need both pieces for mine. It looks like a windhshield installer in the past messed mine up - they were both cracked right where they hook on to the snap-lock fasters on the A-pillar.
Risky business, I know.
I used to work at one back in high school. Used to see some crazy stuff. Ever see a guy try to change a tire inside the wash while it's running?
The Brown Bear around here has a policy of fixing any damage as long as it is discovered before you leave so be sure to give your car a good walk around!
