R50/53 I love my Mini
Just thought I'd take this moment to express my LOVE for my car.
Got together with family and freinds for the Thanksgiving holiday and found it hard to remove the smile from my face after each subsequest "joy-ride". I even kept up the a buddy's '69 427 vette, (for a limited time, while he spun his tires thru 3rd gear...he was no match in the corners.)
This car by far is the most fun you can have with your clothes on
Take a moment and express your love.

His, Chile Red all over, Madness CAI, Helix 15% pulley, Magnaflow exhaust, RDR swaybar
Hers, EB with UJ on top and bone stock.

Went to Mother's for Thanksgiving yesterday and got to drive her brand spanking new Z4. What a beautiful car. So much better in every way than her Z3...beefier, great engine, what a throaty sound it makes... The interior is beautifully designed and we especially like its brushed aluminum dash and the leather seats' quality. It performed quite well, both on city streets and on the highways...very impressive.
HOWEVER...hubby and I couldn't get over that it just didn't compare to the complete experience of motoring in Wanda, my MCS. The MINI handles better, feels more balanced and is just, well, loads more fun. I prefer my MINI.

Last weekend was the pulley party here in Phoenix.
I did ECU, pulley, ignition stuff.
It's new love all over again. Never lost the love, but now it's like those first months following delivery again. That's what I really like... my interest/obsession with the car has steadily increased over the past year (didn't think that would be possible). Amazing!

What if you drive naked? I know, that's when that cold weather package kicks in like a life saver.
Well I have to say that owning and driving a MINI has changed my life and I am glad for it.
It's the most fun to drive, most fun to mod, most fun to look at and they are not a dime a dozen.
Perception of performance is a relative thing. I don't have the pulley or ECU upgrade yet and my MCS is doing just great, or so I think. I'm sure I'd take my fun meter up to the next level with the pulley and ECU.
I guess I have to buy a heavy duty Fun meter!

I gave a few thanksgiving day joyrides as well.My college aged cousin will never think of his twisty mountain road the same again.I think he may have wet himself. My cooper s handles far better than his mother's corolla.
we loved our mini so very much.......i loved walking out of the elevator and seeing her silk green back end around the corner with the clear lites and 'G MINI' plates, she was sharp!!
but, now, *sigh* she is no more... an unlicensed, uninsured 14 year old kid took her away, but she made it possible for me to walk away from a terrible accident. for this we are thankful to G MINI and although we miss her more every day, her "replacement" will be ordered in january. to our fellow motorers, take a moment with your MINI, give it a hug and give a wave to your fellow MINI's out on the road. g MINI will always have a special place in our hearts.

monkeygrrl,
When did this happen? So sorry about G MINI's loss, but not surprised to hear that she gave her life to save yours. Hugs to you in your moment of loss. What are the specs of her replacement?

we are going to order G MINI's "ghost" ASAP, it will be a '04 PSM (i miss our SG!) with all 3 packages, chrome inserts, auto-dim mirror & auto wipers, everything but the HK and GPS. we are stiill mulling over the sport suspension upgrade and we already had the clear tail lites and side blinkers. a pretty MINI, but different. it should be born around the same time and delivered the same time as G MINI was.
I have been visiting family over this holiday weekend and have not seen my MCS for a few days.
Tonight I'll be home. My MINI will still be there... waiting for me.
I will enjoy the memories of this holiday for a long, long time.
God speed.
