I only wave if I notice something different about the car. Exhaust, Blacked out peices, excessive speeding, etc.

 

Often, when driving my wife's VW Cabrio, I'll pass a MINI and wave enthusiatically,
then I remember I'm not in my MINI and the driver in the MINI hasn't a clue why I'm waving.

 

I have a guy with a gp by me we wave every time.

 

I wave at other MINIs passing or pulling up next to me. Occasionally, the enthusiast will wave back and people have come up to me to talk about the car a few times. I do see at least 8-10 other MINIs on the road every day but i would say only 20% wave back.

 

20%... Yeah, that sounds about right.

 

So many MINIs around here nobody waves anymore. Hate to say it but I've quit trying.

 

Still wave at every MINI and mini that I see. In a busy city it is hard to catch all. There are lots of MINI owners who have no clue about waving, to them it is just a transportation device. We all (unfortunatly) cannot be enthusiests.

 

I work in Santa Monica and there are minis EVERYWHERE now. Most of the drivers are snobby, prissy, self absorbed types talking on their cell phones in their own little world.

Whenever I see a mini I always look at the driver and see if I can even make eye contact. Then I smile and if I get a smile back I wave. Sadly more often than not I get a glare and they are back in their own world.

The other day I ran into some true mini drivers on the fwy. The passenger saw me and gave me a big smile and a nice wave so I smiled and waved back. It was a nice change.

 

I've been waving...even when I'm in my old T-bird (they usually don't wave back when I'm not in a MINI). Just recently I was at the post office with the MINI...another MINI pulls in and stops.....I stop walking toward my car and greet the fellow, complement his MINI and introduce myself. I got a rather cool reception.... ..and no response to my introduction. Maybe he was in shock that another MINI owner would speak to him!

 

I wave all the time. Save the wave!

 

I wave every time....even when i'm not in my MINI! Boy do I get strange looks when I wave to someone when I am driving along in my 71 Chevy!!

I have taken matters into my own hands. When I see a cool Mini in a small parking lot, I go into these establishments and politely yell as loud as I can...

"HEY WHO OWNS THAT BAD A$$ MINI OUT THERE!!"

No joke. Ask TomW. (Nice car Tom.)

 

I wave to ALL mini owners! Most like 90% don't wave back!!! why??? I'm cute! what's wrong? I'm not being creepy. Just want to give acknowledgment when I see another mini. It's probably because I'm from Long Island and us NYers aren't the nicest of people...

attn: if you live on long island and I wave... PLEASE WAVE BACK! it would mean a lot! THANKS!

 

Its ok 90% dont wave back at me either and im good looking too ; P

 

I wave to them and do not care too much if they don't wave back. It always put a smile on my face everytime I see another mini driver.

A mini driver flashed his lights at me today!!! yayay!!!

In a recent road trip down the California coast I had the distinct impression that Cali MINI owners are unwilling to say hi. Maybe 1 in 5 waved, honked, or flashed....hmmm. Well after watching news about the state of CA affairs I understand the Angst. I never let the world keep me from waving and the day I stop is the day I die.

 

OF COURSE!!! And today I got a "peace sign" ya know the 21st century thumbs up haha! awesome day!

 

I ALWAYS throw the peace sign! OR blow by them and hit the hazards for a quick 2-3 flashes.

 

If you keep flashing people they're all gonna make some sort of gesture!

In fact, I created a little wave logo out to put on my windshield to show MINI drivers coming towards me that I'm a waver It's very cute - I had them make 4" solid red hand with an "I" cut out of the middle to say "I wave"
