Who cares if they see you or even know why your waving... either their "reply" or confused look (WHO was that?!) is worth it!

I always wave. A friend of mine who is a female will always enthusiastically wave with me at the passing MINI. She usually squeals "MINI" when we see one too, makes sure I'm paying attention I guess.

I'm in the military and to my knowledge there are 8 MINIs on base. Two in my squadron, one in the other AMXS, a Major owns one in one of the backshops, someone's wife owns one, someone over on the flying squadron owns one (but he never waves! ), one in EOD. There is another one that is Jet Black like mine but I've never seen it on base. All are MCS suprisingly except the EOD guy who has a blue R50.

We all wave, except the flying guy, even the Major comes down to us lowly enlisted and gives the ol' wave.

I'm trying to get their names so I can start a base club, but its kind of hard.

 

We always wave! We have two MINIS in the family and may have three before the year is out. Regardless of what vehicle we are in, upon spotting a MINI we all yell in a high pitched voice "MINI!".

I have to catch myself on business trips since it is just a natural reaction

 

Always! I usually get a wave back too. Something about the Silk Green makes people smile...

 

I'm disappointed... I've been driving my MINI for a week and nobody has waved! I live in the bay area where there's a huge population of MINIs.... maybe everyone is just jaded? :(

Though I had someone smile really big when they saw that their MINI was the same color as mine.

 

I still wave but no one wants to wave back at the goth girl

 

Oh yeah; everytime I see a Mini. Response rate is about 25% as mini drivers around here seem to be soo self-centered it is ridiculous!

 

Ha! I have the same problem. Completely makes my day when someone does wave though

 

i wave every time, 25 to 50 % i get a response . no matter what ,i'll wave, honk,flash lights, have the kids act silly.what ever it takes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

i don't have a MINI yet. but I wave at every one I see. I also wave at anyone who makes eye contact in traffic. It usually makes people smile. sometimes they wave back. but I have still not had a single MINI owner wave back to me.
maybe because I drive a big ole' honking SUV.

 

Absolutely!! It's funny cuz my winter vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler Sahara and most of the Jeep drivers do the wave to other Jeeps as well...

 

I live in a VERY rural area, and before I got my Mini, there was only one other person here with one. I finally saw her a few days ago, and I waved. She glared back at me....I guess I pissed her off cause shes not the only Mini owner (read status symbol) here in BF egypt anymore!

 

I wave everytime. Response is about 75%, but, decreasing. I think because there are more used Mini's and they don't get the briefing from the new Mini dealer about proper Mini etiquette - or the mailers and brochures included in your glove box at delivery. At a red light I wave until they wave back - even it takes an arm out the window. Its what we have that other car brands don't. Lets keep it alive!

 

i still wave... and i used to get a lot of waves back... but now minis are starting to get more popular in my city and there are more trendy drivers than there used to be. and they're not really into the whole community thing, just wanna look cool. sad... =/

 

I wave!! There is a Cooper club in town, so everyne knows each other and waves.
Also the wave applies with older bimmers too! More like a flashing lights, honking and waving

 

And I was starting to get a complex. When I had my Porsche, we all waved to each other. I thought it would be the same with MINIs, but as I have waved or tried to acknowledge other MINIs, I've received NOTHING in response.

ive actually waved (couple fingers off the wheel) at a few recently lol... i dont really look to see if they wave back...up to them

 

I waved at a guy in a MINI convertible yesterday. He looked at me, appeared to notice I was driving a MINI, and just stared blankly at me as we passed one another.

 

HAHAHA I get so board sometimes ill GIVE THEM A FREE DETAIL!

 

No more waves for me, unless I notice they notice my MINI, but thats rare for most owners nowdays "its just a car".

 

I had fairly good response with my Scion.. hope I get the same with my Mini! And just FYI, scion ladies hardly waved back either.

 

I still wave in Phoenix... wave back people!

 

Most women are really clueless as to what takes place around them on the road, they usually never wave back if they are a chick, id say 80% if they are men
