Maybe about a half here! I do miss some in the inner city traffic.

I'm a girl and proud to say that I will wave, blink my lights, stick my arms out the sun roof or windows just to wave at another MINI
I do notice that in the "preppy" parts of town..where the most MINIs are the girls never wave..mainly because they're too busy chatting away on their cell phone or trying to text. They just don't get it!

My boyfriend lives out of town so I usualy base how good my drive was by how many MINIs I saw and how many waved back

IT'S ONLY MOTORING IF YOU WAVE!!!!!!

Of the eight minis I saw earlier only one waved back... the rest were middle aged women that couldnt see past the hood of their own car...

Now, I'm not accusing anyone, but every woman MINI driving will NOT wave no matter the ruckus I make. I've only ever gotten one woman to wave (and she seemed embarrassed doing so). Does anyone else notice this trend or am I crazy. Keep up the waves motorers !
i noticed this myself. seems the younger women wave, but the ones say in there late 40's and up, dont wave.

i still wave everytime i see one. I would have to say i get about 8 waves to each no wave, so im ok with that!

Just thought I'd mention I got a wave a few weeks ago... I forgot about it until now. I always look to see who's driving any oncoming MINIs I encounter; most people driving them pretend not to notice me. I always at least try to make eye contact just in case I get a motorist who's inclined to wave, and lo, I got one! It's been awhile, but it's always nice.

I also tend to get the "do I know you?" stare as I wave. But I still do it. As should we all.

My friends will make fun of me for it lol I will be driving my 07 Mellow Yellow Cooper around and then I will flip out and roll the window down and shove my hand really far out of the window and give a nice big wave. When we are driving inb my friends car it is no use but to just stare and see what a cool car that is driving. Lol

I drive my lil greenie quite a bit and I have noticed an increase in the number of mini owners who don't wave back, that's disappointing! Minis are such unique buggies that when I spot one I feel compelled to wave or flash the high beams. I like to feel like I belong to a unique club because of the car I drive, but people who don't respond back with a wave or flash makes me think that this unique club is becoming elitist.
This does not deter me from expressing my desire to wave or flash, shame on you for not responding!

I feel the exact same way Greenie. Here is how I justify my "membership" to our 'elitist' club. If you wave back.....you are clearly a MINI lover and therefore considered a member. If you don't, you're one of those that thinks the car is cute. (which is fine) Now this is going sound conceited but if you are a MINI lover and you catch my Gossamer out of the corner of your eye and you DON'T stare or wave, you just don't have the MINI blood in your veins. I live in LA where there are thousands of MINIs.....the only time I tend to get waves or flashes is when I am motoring canyons on the weekend. Mon-Fri on the freeway....I might as well just be another commuter on the asphault. (I could NEVER be confused with a commuter)

FOR ALL THE MINI LOVERS OUT THERE I SALUTE YOU! (and will certainly wave and wave back!)

Yesterday I took my neighbor for his virgin MINI drive on a quck twisty. He spotted a HB and W MINI and I told him about the mandatory wave/acknowledgement. We zoomed up parallel and we got a cheeky wink! LONG LIVE THE WAVE!!

I still wave, and I enjoyed the multitude (and different styles) of waves at MOTD, but many around my area don't wave, and have the car more as a fashion statement or as a fuel saver :( I miss seeing the people I can Motor with.

it's hit or miss for me. sometimes, people beat me to the punch and blink at me first, sometimes i blink first and get a response, and some people just ignore me.

although a cop in the town next to mine has an MCS with siren lights on it, so something tells me that's one mini not to throw my flashers at.

one time, i was lost doing a food delivery in my mini, and i stopped and asked for directions as i saw a guy getting out of his R53. he complimented me on my car, and told me how to get where i needed to go. so other mini drivers are at least friendly to me.

I had my kids in the back seat yesterday and my son screams "There's a MINI dad catch it"... of course I had to try. So we motored around the corner and spooled up the supercharger just a bit to catch up to a nice looking Black MC (with a cute driver and passenger to boot ) that threw us a very energtic wave as we pulled up next to them.

The kids were more excited about it than I was I think. They may have thought I was some crazy stalker if the kids weren't in the car.

MINIs are rare enough in Alaska that I highly doubt most other MINI drivers would think you were a stalker for doing what you did.

When I first got my MCS to Kodiak, I had a few people do that to me - except it would turn into a kinda playful chase through our twisties, then a stop at one of our scenic viewpoints. I pretty much met every MINI owner here (there's 10 of us) in this fashion.
