There's this one guy that REFUSES to wave at me in my town.
Not to sound creepy, but I found out where he works, and I'm going to print out a "SAVE THE WAVE" flier and stick it on his wind shield.
Hopefully it works!

Hey Carjoy--Nightfire Red was my first choice, but they did not make it in the "S". In the end, am very happy with Laser Blue. Wave on

Hey Mrs.! I hear that a lot. I probably would have made the same color choice if I went for an S also. I'm JustACooper.

People in Atlanta still wave. Some get REALLY excited when you wave at them too.

My son got home from his first day of school and tells me that while he was on the bus to school he saw me driving by and waved from the bus--he absolutely knew it was me, but unfortunately I did not see him!

I saw a nicely restored classic mini a few days back. Guy gave me a wave and I responded with the most enthusiastic wave-back that I could muster with my hangover.

If you're reading this, nice blue paint, miniman

Totally unexpected wave last week. I was driving down a narrow PACKED street. A guy in a black MINI with gray racing stripes coming the other way suddenly waved. I was caught completely off guard. I hope he doesn't mistakenly think I'm one of those "unfun" MINI owners because I forgot to wave back. But then, he's only the third person to ever wave since I got my car! We were on a road where the speed limit is 50 so I passed him at over 100 mph, had almost no time to react. He passed so quickly that I'm not sure if he drove a regular MINI or a Clubbie. If it was the former, then that would be the first non-Clubbie wave I've gotten!

I've traveled all over the East Coast and have observed the following: most Mini drivers in Upstate NY are rude; in VT, ME and PA they're friendly; In MA you may get a wave back and in CT and NJ forget it.

I live in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Virginia area. Most Mini drivers here do NOT wave. Actually, they are quite snobbish and stare at you like "how dare you wave at me" after I wave. I will get the occassional wave from a true Mini enthusiast here, but it is rare. I am traveling to DC this weekend so I hope to get more friendlier Mini drivers waving back at me!

I don't get those that do not wave back. Where's the love? Are they jealous or just born with nasty and stuck-up attitudes?

Hey! I'm from CT and I wave everyyy time I supposeeee you're right though, I have definitely noticed that I get more waves the closer I get to Boston or up in NH. However, I got the most enthusiastic wave ever from a MB/W cooper (the negative of mine) and there was a cute girl driving

I've found I get a lot more waves back from MINIs whose windshields are roughly facing mine. ie: we're both left turning, going opposite directions on a slower street, passing in a parking lot, etc.

I've tried waving to MINIs behind me or in front of me but I can't seem to get it just right

I still wave, even when the other MINI is on the opposite side of the interstate. Most MINI drivers wave back.

I always wave, but I seem to be on a "do not wave back" list... :/ I know they see me, because the top is always down and my hand is out. [this means you, blue mini on 15 mile]

I don't wave anymore because there are too many Mini's on the road and it has become stupid. When they were rare and there were few on the road then it was cool but now they are over-saturated and not a novelty anymore.

I'm a waver.

Always at other Minis..... often at any random vehicle if the are willing to make eye contact.

I my 2nd vehicle for 15 years or so has always been a motorcycle or a scooter, so waving just comes natural since most cyclists are wavers.

cheers,

dag

Yep. The older generation of riders seems to wave the most. It makes for a nice "community" of people you don't even know.

cheers,

dag
