Take heart, keep waving. I had similar experiences. They end up waving and you end up feeling good which erases the "embarassment" of the non-wavers.

I must say, I like your choice of color for your MINI.

BTW, yes us roadies (cyclists) always wave at each other but you can't say we're less snooty since I doubt you wave at a mountain biker I ride a Litespeed, how about you?

I'm sure it was just coincidence, but the two Clubmans I passed yesterday did not wave while the other 4 MINIs (S and non-S) all waved back. Go figure though.

I'm always waving when I see another MINI.

The problem I'm currently having is holding back the wave while I'm 'walking' downtown to the office and see one.

Although the other day I was in a store during lunch and one of the employees asked "sell or own" Had to ask what she meant and all she said was "MINI" - dugh - My pass card to the office is hanging around my neck on a MINI lanyard

I wave at ALL cyclists - even recumbants. I have a Klein Quantum Race from before Klein's purchase by Trek. I'm in the market for a titanium now

This may be offensive to some, but so far I've waved eight times. My only two return waves were guys. The six nonreturned waves were to women. Whats with that? Reminds me of high school .

Sounds like the MINI MA are not spreading the wave!

I purchased my Mini almost two months ago and only received ONE wave from an older man. We were both in MA and both had NY plates. Maybe that pushed him over the edge to give the wave.

Seems like people in Minis don't care about other Mini owners. I see multiple Minis per day and never get a wave. Maybe because so many people have them around here, or maybe because people in MA suck (no offense to other NAMers). Maybe I'll have better luck when I move back to NY. Most Mini owners around here are yuppies or young women.

I missed a wave to a fellow MINI this morning. But I was paying attention to driving and the nut (in some generic econobox) that made a right turn on red without stopping.
So here is a wave to the Dark Silver MCS on Hope Street in Bristol....

I missed a wave Tuesday afternoon. I was following the Co-Pilot's (Hubby) directions and made a fast turn off my main drag onto a side street. Apparently a black Mini coming down the road I'd just turned onto was waving away. I missed him completely while trying to figure out exactly where the Hubby was trying to get me to go. So sorry. Passengers should not tell me about these things. They should have their hands in the air waving away while I'm trying to get us down the road in one piece, don't you think?

Absolutely - it's a cardinal rule in my car (whether i'm driving the MINI, or the "MINI Support Vehicle" [the F150]). If you are a passenger, it is your un-bending responsibility to do all the waving to other MINIs. And you can't just half-a@@ it...you MUST wave enthusiastically and with a smile on your face. If not, you get to walk.

Lucky for me I waved enthusiastically at a beautiful classic Mini right side drive as we passed eachother zipping through the curves and the passenger (whom I mistook for the driver) waved back. Then I figured it out, and saw that the driver had been waving the whole time... cool!

BTW, I got reciprocated waves from three MINIs on the way in this morning but yet another Clubman did not. I don't know, my informal poll of Clubman drivers is not looking good.

I continue to wave day in and day out...I am keeping the wave alive! Also, if my daughter is in the backseat she waves like a maniac...I just think people are clueless...

This morning I got a wave from an Indi-blue MCS stopped in front of me waiting for a stoplight, right about to enter I-40 in Durham. I tooted the horn and smiled

Got my PeeWee for more than a month now and only ONE wave. And yeah, I hate to say this but I do find that my fellow ladies don't even wave at all!! They just look at you and nothing.

I love to wave at others in my area. I wish we had a MINI group here in Idaho, lots of MINI's and no dealership. This forum is great and has tons of info.

I always wave, but very rarely get a wave in return. Maybe once the dealership opens here in Austin, we will have more enlightened MINI drivers on the road. So if you live in Austin, WAVE people!!
