So, I guess the question is, should I get new rims and tires for the winter that is coming?? What does everyone else do?

Dont feel like doing this again.

Put it in a warm garage, modify it ready for spring and grab the 4-wheel drive trailblazer and head to teh ski slopes. Thats what I do!!!!

As a fellow St. Louis area resident, I can only hope we get weather like in you picture this year. I grew up in Wisconsin and I LOVE snow. The more the better!

TireRack winter wheels and Arctic Alpins or Blizzak
or whatever. $550 delivered to your door.

30-minutes twice a year and you are good-to-go.

At least here in MN where we got like 6 INCHES of snow
all last year!!!!!!

I bought a set of 15" OEM holees on ebay with brand new continental tires already mounted on them ($250+$50 s/h). Then I ordered 15" Arctic Alpins from Tirerack.com ($340) and had a local tire place remove the continentals from the holees and put on the Alpins.

So now I have a set of snows that I can put on the car myself when I feel the need, and a set of new continental tires for when my original 15" continentals wear out. Total $640.

Oh pooz,

Do you really think it will snow in St Louis??? The most snow we got last year was on Christmas Eve!!! If it snows this weekend, I'll buy you a Ted Drew's next summer

Better get my boots out

The snow looks cold and wet.

Why don't you just move to Hawaii.

I used to shovel a 100 foot driveway in Chicago twice a day to free my car but I got tired of that.
When it was minus 80 degrees with windchill in the winter my car was not happy and my brake fluid was like molasses. They say that one third of all the cars in Chicago don't start on those cold days.

Now if it is 70 people say it is chilly! Not me. I'm hardened.
