'06 JCW Price?

I'm looking at an '06 JCW with most of the usual options. It's in excellent condition, one owner, all service records, 30+ k miles. Warranty is out late next month. He's asking $22. Fair price? I'm new and could use an opinion or two (or more). Thanks.

I would suggest that you take a tour through the 12 pages of 2nd gen marketplace to get an idea of the prices of 06 JCWs as many are listed with varying mileages and options. The one your looking at seems to be real close. DD

Are you buying from a dealer or privately? If this price is through a dealer, i say its a great deal. If its private, its absolutely a fair price!

It never hurts to offer low and come up to an agreeable price.

22K is not a bad price if the MCS is fully optioned, you like the color and overall condition.

Check the history with the dealer, if you can get the VIN in advance.

Food for thought- My 06 JCW was pretty close to $40K out the door so I know I would never sell it for $22K...

We all know cars depreciate but JCW values seem to fall like a rock : (

This is also why I keep my cars for 10+ years.

You never get alot of money back on extra options... when you can get a MCS with the essentials for $25k, your car was basically a 60% premium over basic MCS's... it'll be difficult to get a 60% premium above those cars on the used car market!

You bring up a good point... if you want to buy a car with lots of extra options, you need to keep the car for a long time to get your money's worth! Or... be prepared to take a big financial hit on resale... or... lease the car and let the bank take the hit on resale value. The banks apply the same residual percentage to the MSRP regardless of how many options you add, so on cars with lots of options they set unrealistically high residuals.

I've seen 2009 JCW cars with 10 to 15K miles on them for the mid 20's.

I'd say hi teens.
