Cost to replace 2003 MCS front bumper? Grrr...

Either some idiot backed their tow hitch into my front bumper or something on the road hit me. I have a 2 inch wide flat puncture wound in my front bumper. Any idea on how much its going to cost to replace and repaint it?

I just priced out the bumper skin for a 2003 MCS actually looking at about
$250 + $500 paint if you install yourself
atleast thats what I was quoted and that is no aditional clips or parts just the bumper skin and paint

Yeah I figured it would be about that much, my deductable is $1000. So guess who is paying unless I find who did it? Its got to be one of my neighbors, there is no where else I park that my bumper is exposed. And it definitely looks like a tow hitch hit it.

Had the same thing (idiot with a tow hitch) happen to my back bumper. Cost came to $480. Went the uninsured motorist route, which will only cost me $250.

Good luck.

Well I setup a time to replace and paint a new OEM bumper, its qouted at $625. And I am pretty positive it was a trailer hitch, but no one is owning up to doing it, so its out of my own pocket.

I had this happen to my rear bumper last year from another car's front license plate bolts. (I always wanted to wire up a few back up sensors to my Italian Air Horns which would go off when a cars get too close to me in the parking lots & scare the living b-jesus out of them

Doubt you would require any new clips unless switching to the aero kit front bumper. Just use the old one's.....

Quite possibly one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time.

www.hornblasters.com would be a nice upgrade to your idea. You'd probably get in trouble though.

some little old lady would probably just think its some freak alarm system and not back her Buick up (thus leaving it in sensor range) and theyd just keep on blasting away in the parking lot lol

try to get a used bumper the same color since you're paying out of pocket. check your local salvage yards or craigslist.

+1 Or ebay, or here on NAM. Good time to replace the stock bumper with an aero bumper if you like the style.

Front Bumper

Believe it or not, I may have one tucked away in my garage in the right color no less. I'll check this weekend if your'e interested. It came off a 2003 car with only a couple of hundred miles on it that was turned into a show car, I just can't guarantee how it was handled before I got it. It'll probably be Sunday before I get home to check.
