R50/53 How's the defroster?
Has anyone had the cooper in cold weather conditions and tested the defroster? A lot of cars have a "blind spot" that doesn't defrost (side windows or corners of the windshield, etc.) ...just curious to see how the beloved Cooper performs...(don't get mine until November)
I've only had a light fog on the inside of the windows so far, so it's not a fair test, but it seems like the side windows are kind of pokey to be defrosted... but aren't they usually?

The Best Defrosters of Any Car I've Owned
Now that the weather is colder and I find my interior windows fogged up a lot, I've discovered that the defroster is exceptional. Atleast here in California when it's 50 degrees outside, hitting the defroster button which turns the AC on a full blast and turns on the rear defroster lines---I get my windows clear in a few seconds.
No other car I've owned, whether VW, Acura, Lexus even, has cleared my windows as fast or easily with a single button---no vents to close, or channel. Heh heh, it's one of my favorite features.

You must have the ACC. I have manual controls and turning on the defroster does NOT activate the A/C or rear defroster. And without the A/C, all the windows fog up very quickly and VERY completely and take a while to defog.

Oh good clarification. Yep, I was never fond of the ACC, but I think that's one of it's strongest features. A single button press, and everything is activated and channelled at once.

Ok,the MINI may do very well in warm climes removing some inside fogging
But up here where it has to deFROST,ie,remove ice and snow from ALL glass surfaces,it is the best car I have owned,or know about,PERIOD,to do that
.
-40F and down,at least once a winter,-20F and snow all the time, then the odd freezing rain.
My windows clear and stay cleared in any conditions, and I stay warm, heated seats help.
