So does the 2008 convertible

The R52 convertible was produced from 2005 until 2008. It was introduced in the summer of 2004 as a 2005 model and it coincided with the mid-life refresh of the R53 hardtop in 2005.

Which one are you looking for?
I think the GPs closed out the R53 production run in 2006.

The GPs were close to the end of the R53 run, but I don't think there were the last ones. The GPs were assembled in Italy and delivered (at least in the U.S.) in mid-August, so they were probably June or July builds, and I don't think the assembly line in Oxford stopped R53 production until the very end of August or the beginning of September.

The last R53 hardtops left Oxford in November 2006. I remember seeing a photo of the assembly line from that time were R53s and R56s were being assembled at the same time.

I didn't know GPs were assembled in Italy. Interesting... was it done by FIAT?

As in "Fix-It-Again-Tony".
