Heated Seats

Those of you that have this option in an 05 or 06 S Coupe, how well do the heated seats work ??? Great, Just OK, Can't hardly notice they are working.

Please let me know if its worth looking for a Mini S with this option or is it just a waste of time trying to include this in my search choices.

Thanks, TinyKar

I have it in my 05 coupe. I love it, two settings, definitely can feel the warmth. ALL my cars will have heated seats. :D

Mine are very warm! I rarely even use the "high", just "low". They start to feel warm in under a minute.

You can't lose with the CWP. Other than the heated seats and washer jets, you get the folding mirrors.

Don't know about the 1 gens but I was replying that if it is on TinyKar's list, it may be a future option to order which, to me, is a must have.

What do you mean you don't know about the 1st gens? I just said that the 1st gens don't get power fold mirrors, but, we do get mirrors that fold if you manually push them.

This thread is in 2002-2006 forum and the OP was asking specifically about 05 or 06 models and their heated seats. Nothing about power fold mirrors....

Power folding mirrors can be retrofitted on the first gen cars. I think first gen MINIs sold in Japan came with this option.

Compared to my old Volvo, these heated seats are like pizza ovens, they're amazing! I agree with the others, mine stays on low, even if it's in the 'teens outside.

My first MCS did not have heated seats. My second MCS came with heated seats and I thought what a waste until I tried them. I love my heated seats.

My heated seats work awesome. They go quite a ways up the back and have even helped with some minor back pain. In fact i might be in need of a little treatment right now!!

LOL! U got that right, j! I love mine, 2. Since it's really cold here (by my standards, at least), it's the 1st button I reach 4 when getting in2 my MINI. After driving 4 awhile, I'll turn it to low and, by the time the engine's warm and I turn the heat on for the rest of the cabin, I turn off the seats al2gether. Niiiice & toasty!

i almost never use high. always on low and even then, it's too hot for me.

i don't like my buns burning.

it is still quite hot. i usually turn mine off as soon as it gets pretty warm. it's perfect like that

I'm a wedding photographer and when I climb in to my MINI after standing for 10 hours and my back is aching, that seat really feels good on the drive home. I'm thinking about wiring a switch to turn off the bottom cushion heat and leaving the back heat. They would be hard to do without.

Post a DYI on the bottom cushion mod if you do it.

I have an 05 as well, are you supposed to feel the heat in the bottom part of the seat (where your butt is)? Mine only heat the part where my back rests.
