Erratic throttle at pedal

Ok so what i thought was a clutch issue has been killed, here is what happens, it has only happened three times but it seems like the gas pedal is not responding, when i shift (has happened from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th) about 1/3 the way pressing the pedal the motor just stops excellerating, if i press the pedal down it has no rpm effect, no if i back the throttle back down to the spot from which this happens its like it picks up again from that point. being new to the mini, im cornfused. anyone have an idea? thank you!

just because the RPMs don't go higher doesn't mean its 100% the pedal. I would take off the inlet to the Throttle body and verify with the ignition on(engine off) that the TB opens fully with the pedal depressed all the way.

i will check that, the wife said it happened to her this evening, she noticed that one of the dummy lights next to the temp gauge flashed for just a split second, she said the larger of the icons came on, i will look and see if it is opening all the way with the pedal down, im thinking its an electrical issue vs. mech...but who the heck am i!

It's most likely the throttle sensor - the gas is completely drive-by-wire, so there is nothing mechanical to go bad. Else the throttle body is dirty and is sticking.

If you had a light, you probably have an error code recorded. I'd get a code reader on there to see what it says. If you don't have one, get to your local AutoZone, Advance or whatever is in your area.

well i learned that the indicator light is the ASC/DSC light, however it must be defective since the driving conditions dont warrant loss of traction or stability. i guess at this stage it needs to be checked by the dealer, i will turn it off since the weather doesnt need it this time of year, i dont race high speed either so stability will always be controlled by my foot! any thoughts or experiences?

maybe you tried to pushed it to the bottom while you were on stop or almost stopped so for you not to loose traction it doesn't go fast from start unless you deactive that.

sorry if you don't understand me my grammar isn't good
