Eeek! I just found out that the Ockt-Cooperfest car show I'm entered in this weekend is a judged show. I was initially told it wasn't, which is why I was comfortable entering in the first place.

I keep my car clean, but I don't go crazy like many of the people I've seen at other car shows. So if you're at the show this weekend, just look for the poor little MINI that the judges are laughing at and that will be my little "dirt ball".

I'll be at the OcktCOOPERfest both days, but my jet black/jet black/chromed MINI won't be *in* car the show! At least not this time. Instead, I decided to just enter the Autocross on Saturday...it'll be my first time driving Autocross, should be fun. Anyway, I'm glad you and Nittany are gonna be there, I've always wanted to see your MINI with its very unique blue dash, in person!

See ya (and about 100 other Tri-state area MINIs and their proud owners!) at the OcktCOOPERfest.

Rock On,

-Joe

If you want some info/advice on showing your MINI you could try to contact "sugar" over at mini2.
Here's a link to her gallery w/ some pics from shows.

Yikes! That is a beautiful car, but exactly the level of cleaning I didn't want to get into. I guess I'll endure this year's event and remember to just go as a spectator next year.

Show your car for what she is! Be proud of her and the special things about her that make her special/different. If you want to "win" when competing against trailer queens then you need to become one but if your just proud of your MINI then show her off!

You're right. I'm not entering to win anything. Besides, no matter how clean I got Nittany, I still have an hour drive to get to the show.

I guess I'll look at it from the point of view that I want to go to the show anyway to see the other cars and this way I'm guaranteed a good parking space.

Just got to have fun! The British Conclave has awards too but most of us go to meet others who love their cars. There were some really tricked out cars and paint jobs. The one that took first place? A stock yellow MINI S, second went to a MINI S with a really cool paint job and third to another stock MINI CVT. Or it may have been the really cool paint job got 3rd, don’t remember. Anyway, they are fun and people love to see the car with lots of mods, great paint jobs or stock. Most of all people love to talk about the car. So have fun and enjoy yourself.

Hi Jerseygirl,

I entered my new Chili Red MCS in the Car show and autocross. They only reason I entered in the car show is that the car is new and in great shape. Also, I want to show off my front aero bumper and my new chrome side mirrors (which look great by the way) I don't care how the judges look at my car, I'm just doing it for fun.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the Car Show. I will look for you and Nittany.

Hey RaceCarDriver,

Look forward to meeting you on Sunday and I'll finally get to see your car. Same as you I only entered because the car is still fairly new and in good shape.

See you Sunday!

Showing is fun, it's pretty much a second job for me. Usually I spend an hour or two a day doing different parts of the car (interior, tires & suspension, exterior) before a big car show. The best way to detail is to plan it out and you eventually get the hang of it. My car is a daily driver, i still have flaws from my MINI being driven. It takes a lot of work, but it's what I do for fun with my MINI. And always have fun at car shows, you can usually get a lot of good ideas and meet a lot of interesting people!
