Hi everyone! I've had several BMWs and many VWs over the years, and have finally gotten the Mini I've been wanting. I'm really looking foward to enjoying this car and getting to know everyone here
Why does it have the Cooper Sport wheels? Shouldn't it have at least the S Lites?
Well, I would rather have the S Lites. I'm still learning about Minis, so I'm not sure what it is or isn't supposed to have. It's an '04 with 28k miles, the dealer I bought it from thought it was all stock, but it has a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, cold air intake, cross drilled rotors, and who knows what else I haven't discovered. I can see where it had a strut brace previously as well. The carfax report says it was a corporate car before I got it, so I'm not sure the hows and whys of the mods. Were these wheels not availabe for this year/model? I'm soaking up all the info I can so feel free to educate me
hey man am in mobile.... if you are into autocross theres event this weekend.. you should stop by.. I have a 05 mcs with a few mods you will love these little cars... pm me if you are interested
I like the look of your new MINI. The aero kit is a great look.
As far as the wheels, there is nothing "wrong" with the ones you have, unless YOU don't like them. The "S-Lites" (17", painted, with 8 fat spokes) even though they look nice, and are probably the most popular OEM wheel on the R53 (aka, the '02-'06 hatch model) they are NOT light!! I would not recommend them for performance.
If you are in the market for different wheels, check out the "tires wheels and brakes" forum, and Tire Rack (for starters).
