I'm on the south side of Houston. I don't own a MINI yet but am thinking about one. I read about the trip to the Mackinac Bridge and it sounded like a lot of fun. I'm an old guy, 58, and would like to find a fun car with an active owner group that includes a fair number of people around my generation. Nothing against young folks but there's less in common to share. So, I'm debating "fun" cars like a MINI, GTI, WRX etc. and so far leaning toward the MINI.

There is a very active MINI owners group in Houston. Houston Mini Motoring Society. Very active on Facebook.
