Valuation Question

I am considering selling my Mini and do not really know what it is worth.

2004 Mini Cooper S with JCW package
22,000 miles
Green with white roof

Options: Pretty much loaded. Aerokit, premium wheels, leather, upgraded sound.

This car was owned by my mother who rarely drove it now it is my second vehicle and am thinking about getting something bigger. It is in overall very good condition with no mechanical issues at all. All maintenance records available. I dont have any pics right now.

What would you guys price it at? Thanks.

Do you have the FULL JCW package, motor, suspension and brakes or just one or two of the three packages? If you are not sure look at the parts, Red brake calipers are JCW. Red Springs are JCW. Do you have the JCW Carbon Fiber dash? or any other JCW Carbon fiber stuff?

WOW, 22k on an '04. That's great. Just for numbers sake, go to http://www.kbb.com and plug in the information to see what you expect to get by selling it private party. Kelly Blue book is not bad just to see what you could expect to get for it.

When we sold our MINIs, we found KBB to be overoptimistic. On the other hand Edmunds is pessimistic. The price we could get was somewhere between the 2. It is useful to quote a KBB price to try and convince someone they're getting a bargain.

Most banks go with Kelley, and they might be more apt with dealing with a bank soon when it comes to transaction time.

I posted the car for sale in the classifieds. I listed it at 21,900. Not sure if this is high or fair, let me know. I used NADA and KBB for pricing but they do not really take into account JCW engine and aero kit. KBB was the same price with or without JCW.

Also, I only have the engine. I do not think that the suspension brakes etc were available when I got the car.

KBB is always high. I use Black Book and Manheim Market Report.

BB clean retail is $18,950.

MMR above average retail is $16,700.

Neither has an add for JCW.

$21,900 sounds like a good place to start if it's as clean as you say.

Good luck.

Hmmm...I could have sworn it was ordered with the aero kit. I apologize as I do not know a huge amount about the mini's. I thought it had the different front bumper, rear bumper and rear wing.
