I just installed mine, but couldn't help but notice that it looks very different than my non-alarm stalk. the tip doesn't twist so i can spray my rear window. what giveS? what am i missing? its sad that i need an instruction manual for a wiper stalk...

Mine works just like the original, but with a red tip on the end.
Does it have the markings for the rear wiper?

 

Mine too, have you got one from the cabrio MINI by mistake?

 

cabrio.....ahh...im guessing i did. the markings are different. I thought eveyr MINI had a rear wiper, but i guess cabrio is the answer.

 

Just got off the phone with Classic MINI. It indeed was a wiper stalk from a Cabrio. They are sending me the hardtop version (of course it is more money) but no real harm done. i just have to rip apart my steering column again.
