Hi everyone.....been awhile!
As a member of the "can't wait for May club" I'd like to report how Mini Mum has been since we received her in the early part of May.
First tho...our internet connection has been down for two months. Thanks MSN and Qwest for being such compatable partners! Thank goodness for wireless ...when it works....

Our Mini has about 5000 miles now, and the only glitch has been a non-starting problem that reared its ugly head about three weeks ago.
It turned out to be ( as explained to us) two computers onboard not communicating.
They sent away to Germany for a replacement computer and we were back on the road in 5 days. The delay was due to a lot of head scratching trying to determine the cause.
The people at BMW were fantastic and very customer friendly. The roadside help showed up in less than 45 minutes. They even washed Mini Mum before releasing her back to us. I should mention that they offered us a rental car right away.
Overall, impressed with the service.
And we love our Mini.....never had so much fun or bonded with such a performer.
...should mention that we purchased our Cooper in Minneapolis, MN.
Anyone who is anxiously awaiting the arrival of their Mini ......it is worth it!!! This car will get under your skin and steal your heart. Trust me.

Take care all,
Jimbob

'03 Cooper, cold weather, sport pkg, sunroof, BRG/W,xenons,permanent smile.

Thanks Jimbob for the update. I am not so patiently awaiting the arrival of my cooper. It is currently on the open sea... This is worse than any of the three dauhters I gave birth to many years ago... Can I just rent a yacht and meet her half way????

To answer the questions....
We didn't take the loaner, I had my pickup and that worked fine for us during the week.
I'll post a shot as soon as I can figure out how .

TMGRobyn;
Waiting for the boat to cross and waiting for the dealer to call seemed to take eons!
By tracking the Mini ( I should have been a private investigator ) I knew our new family member was in Minneapolis before the dealer did. In fact, I kept checking the Minis that were parked outside the dealership ( looking for that BRG/W) and finally matched up the serial numbers to our MiniMum. My wife and I sat in that parking lot for about an hour or so pouring over her, wishing that we could take her home. We had to wait another 4 days or so until it was prepped.
It's been fun ever since. The Beatles play especially well in the CD player.....
Wait until the sun is just starting to go down...open the sunroof and windows...pop in Strawberry Fields Forever and cruise your favorite quaint wooded lane ( preferably narrow) or putt down the road by the river that has the biking/walking path...and crank it up for the folks out enjoying the outdoors ( not obnoxiously, just enough to be a nice little traveling jukebox)....I guarantee that it will put you in a cool faux British state of mind.
Of course, if you don't like the Beatles or aren't a Boomer, you'll have to find your own combination of music and roads. But then again, that's half the fun.............

Take care,
Jimbob

Thanks Jim for the great update on your MINI!

and you may have created a monster by telling me how you tracked the car and then found it on the lot... I can see myself doing that! If I even think it could be there, I'll have my happy pants walking around the lot after they are closed!!!

and yes, I'm a BIG Beatles fan! I am making a special Beatles CD to play when I pick up my MCS. I'm 100 miles from the dealer so it will be a really fun ride home! and being 100 miles away makes it easy for me to check status of the car and drive down and get there after the dealer closes!!
