R50/53 The day is finally here...

To pick up the MINI. I went by last night and looked at it, and my girlfriend and I are going to sign the paperwork and pay for it tonight. She still does not know it's here. Her birthday is next weekend, so I'm going to have my buddy pick it up on his flatbed towtruck tomorrow and it will go to the wheel shop to get new wheels.
I will give it to her after after dinner next Friday. I'll post pictures tomorrow after we pick it up and it goes to the wheel shop.
I went by Century yesterday and met the service manager, and some of the MINI technicians. You'll see pictures tomorrow.

Sounds great, but I'm confused. If you're both going to sign the paperwork tonight, how will she be surprised next friday? And why the flatbed - is it to keep extra miles off the odo before giving it to her?

She knows the car was on order but she has no idea when it will be arriving. I told her there was a long wait and she most likely wouldn't get it until November. The flatbed is to keep miles off the odometer. I want her to be the first person to actually "drive" the car after it is delivered. It is her first new car and is kind of a graduation from college/birthday present. We will both be paying for the car at a tune of about $800 a month to get it payed off quickly.

Already ahead of you. She doesn't know but we will be going to The Inn at Biltmore in November and stay the weekend. I plan on asking her there. We will most likely get married next May. I LOVE SURPRISES!
