impressed with it. It was quick, the 6-speed shifted smoothly, 170HP provides lots of zip and the ride was very smooth. It was equipped with just about everything including a 6 CD changer and sunroof. I liked it a lot and the dealer is 10 minutes from my house. The list was $20,400 but the mear mention of a discount brought the full price down to $16.200. It'll make someone a fine car.

Still can't wait for my MINI which should be here about the middle of September, (and it's not even an "S&quot.

I was just thinking....are you perhaps talking yourself out of the MINI? By this post, and a few of your others, it kinda looks as if you may be getting cold feet on the MINI.

Hey I love my MINI. This car gives me more SMILES to the MILE than any car I have owned, and I have owned a bunch of cars over the years.

Would you really choose a Ford Focus over a MINI?

Sorry but after owning two Fords I can tell you that they are utter and complete garbage. Even a new SVT at $16,200 is an absolute rip-off. You get what you paid for.

'Nuff said.

cooper 4 us is right

my dads friend has a 98 countour, auto

after 77 K miles, last month the head blew on teh motor. and he paid a bunch of $$ to fix it.

i told him my hondas have gone about 300K on stock motor and tranny with basic mainteance, and he says "well 77K trouble free miles was pretty good"

i was just thinking "hey old man, are you deaf, i said 300K"

My wifes first car was a Contour that lost all accelration power on the highway @ 70 MPH. We were taking her dad out to dinner, about 45 minutes from our house. He wasn't real impressed with the Ford after that.

My mom and sister both own Focuses - but dollar for dollar, the better package. It's a better driver's car - suspension and handling really make a huge difference.

Not to worry, I've just got a lot of time on my hands. I was impressed with the SVT, it was a lot nicer to drive than I thought it would be. However, my MINI will be here in about 4 weeks and I really am still enthusiastic about it. The only problem, and I'll deal with it, is the dealer being in Memphis. When I visited the dealer last weekend it's the first time I had been in Memphis in years. I hope I'm not insulting someone but, yuk.....what a good place to be from....away from. Too many years in a small town I guess but I don't see how folks can handle the incredible traffic, bums sleeping on the street and hitting people up for money, etc. Everybody seems to be in an awful rush. My visits to the dealer will be keep to a bare minimum.

The biggest problem with the SVT is when I look at it, it does nothing for me......the MINI makes me feel good just looking at it. Getting the MINI is a done deal, I'm just making conversation.
