R50/53 Dead supercharger
Dead supercharger
Ok so i am reaching my 100,000 miles and i was wondering when the super charger finally dies out what should i do should i just get rid of supercharger and go turbo or should i go n/a or get another super charger....you guys have any ideas?.....plans for the car is to keep it as a good daily driver but also be able to take it on the track (not drag) and have some fun around some turns at high speeds (O and i dont wanna upgrade and get another car im totally good with not having to pay a monthly payment for a car)
eaton tvs is the answer.... that or just replace it or rebuild it.
check your boost pressures.... do you even have a pulley on it. if not i wouldent worry too much about it.
theres a guy whos got about 172000 miles on his car and seems to be fine...

I haven't heard of any replacement kits for the mini with a TVS. The simple, low cost, and easiest solution is to find a used replacement for the m45. Some slightly used ones show up around here and ebay every so often.
Every other option, from a new m45 to turbo will cost you a pretty penny. If your car has over 100k miles, I don't think putting on a new charger there is really that cost effective. That's just my opinion of course and I'm sure there are those who will disagree.

It does not sound like you are having any issues. So drive it until you do. Also you can get a good super charger with a warranty and low miles from

BTW 100,00 is not that many miles on a mini engine.

I bought a brand new Supercharger in the marketplace for around $600. I've got 83,000 miles on my '05 right now--so should it fail, I've got my backup. Check eBay and the marketplace for lightly used ones and keep a sharp eye--I snatched mine up within minutes of posting.

My recently purchased 140,000 mile '02 MCS was having no issues with the original supercharger. Just run yours until it dies, and until then keep your eye out for a good buy on a low mileage used one.
