So I came on here yesterday and said I just got a Cooper S over the weekend.
It was dealer owned (a BMW dealer, but not an authorized Mini dealer), used (400 miles on the Odo), sale price too high to mention, however I was ready to pay what they wanted because I wanted the car. Put my money down, filled out the forms for the financing through BMW and took the car home. Got to drive it around the block a few times since it wasn't insured yet.
Anyway, found out a few minutes ago they couldn't get the financing for the car. I have to either give them a boat load more money or return the car!
The car is currently on its way back to the dealer.
I will be going to a different dealer on Friday and ordering the same exact car. I now have to wait however long it is currently taking to get the car to the buyer.
CRAP! The only good thing about this is that by ordering one, I will be saving a bit of cash. Thank god for that.
What has been the wait time for some of you guys?

Could always be worse, Gator! I ordered my first MCS on January 1, 2002. In March, they told me that they decided not to carry the Mini! Had to find a new dealer, ordered number 2 in March. Took delivery August 5. Definitely worth the wait, not only because of money, but also the roadside assistance you don't get buying it "used"!

I ordered my MCS in May, they said it wouldn't be here till December, I've since moved up the list due to pre-specs being sold, and now I should be receiving my MINI in October sometime. I don't expect your wait to be too long. Although if you purchase now, you will be getting a 2003 model. They've stopped taking orders for 2002 models and any new MINIs ordered are 2003 models. I say take the extra time to wait for your car and maybe you can get a new color and maybe some new options available for your car.
