the reason i bought my 2003 mini cooper s is that my last car (1998 jeep wrangler) caught on fire in mid-march. and yes it was quite interesting while car shopping. but i thought i'd post some pics of my jeep mid-fire and after. take a look!
R.I.P. "McGeep"

here's a picture before the fire and the other $600 dollars in racks, lights and bumper....

twas a sad day, but now i have a mcs, and i look back at that day as a sign from above.

You're ok.. now that you're used to see your car on fire, take note that the minis seems to be taking fire from time to time

That should buff right out.
Glad no one what hurt and it was not parked in the garage.
I have a friend how does fire recovery and he said he would never buy a house with a garage under living space because of fires like this. FWIW

The scary part is the same thing can happen to your MINI. Read: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=73527
I had a buddy who fully restored a Scout for show and shine and sunday drives, it was stored in a barn and near the end of the restoration he was doing some small welding on the roll bar, WHOOOSH, caught on fire, used a tractor to push it out of the barn to save the barn, went up completly.
Another buddy did a full resto on a vintage camaro, parked it outside his house on a hill, E brake let go and it went down the hill and had a relationship with a tree, not pretty.
Sorry that happened to such a lovely vehicle that you obviously lavished attention on, enjoy your MINI.

Daaaamn!!!
So if you add all those little tid bits to your electrical system and it causes a slight mishap, as in your case, does your insurance question anything, or do they just do what they are supposed to do and pay out? Just curious...
Sorry about your loss, that was an awesome looking McGeep, at least you got a McMINI out of it right?

Wow - those are quite some pictures...glad you were not hurt. Happy Motoring in your MINI though..
PS - FYI - our MINI was the first one to burn up in the US that we know of - "Scooter". It shouldn't deter you though from having fun in your MINI - we've owned 3 since then...
