Few new owner questions.

hello folks, I collect my newly purchased 2006 MCS with Chili pack on Saturday and can't wait.

2 things really.

1) how do I know if the car has the zenon (is that the name?) headlights? I guess once I see them on I will know, I just didn't know if the Chili pack included them.

2) do many folks sell the wheels that are on the MCS, I have the S spokes and really like the bullet style (I think that was what they called them) the 5 spoke ones with a depression in the middle of each spoke, I guess I was thinking of finding them on ebay. There are tons of S spoke for sale on ebay.co.uk (I live in the UK) but none of the other style.

Many thanks. peter

congrats on the buy. When you turn the headlights on you should see whiter and bluish light which will change its aim within three seconds.

the s spokes are tougher to sell but people buy and sell wheels constantly. Check out the wheels section.

Peter,
congratulations and welcome, this is a great forum for info.
I have only had my 05 mcs for 2 months but this site is a wealth of info.
I sold a mustang GT with bullet rims to get my MINI and would like a set a 5 spoke also.
If you find some post pics here and let me know.

Oh man, the newer mustangs are amazing. Strangely they look like 3/4 scale, I can't tell why, they just look too small. I was a mustang freak for many years and had over a dozen vintage stangs including a GT500KR shelby. Also a prostreet 67 coupe with a 671 GM blower, 69 mach one 428 Cobra Jet....the list is longer than my arm, I got tired of them and got into classic minis. Go figure.

I have wanted a MINi since they were introduced in the states (I was in florida at the time) and went so far as to pre order one but didn't end up buying, As I turn 40 on monday I figured what the hell.

I had the opportunity to swap rims at the dealership with used once off another car but they were not mint and that made me keep the ones I have.
I'll keep a look out for minters.

cheers and wish me luck, I pick it up at 10:00 tomorrow morning.

She's got Zenons as we thought.

what a lovely car, FAST as he!!, I never thought it would be this scary fast, or should I say easy to go fast. I have had fast cars before, all V8 stuff, both new and vintage iron but nothing is this easy to do extra-legal speeds in.

Only fault (if you can call it that) that I have found is the ride is a bit stiff but as I have read the run flats will do that.

One little surprise was this, At the dealer I was haggling like a carpet trader and tried to get the best deal I could. They don't budge much on price but they did drop it 500 quid (I live in UK) but were still giving me a horrid trade in on the RAV4 I was trading, I almost could live with it but wanted to get the absolute best deal. All four tyres were very good but one had a touch less tread then the others. I took the test drive and said "I'll buy the car but want a new shoe on that one corner" he went to the manager and said no, showed me the BS paperwork on the car showing they had X in it and were not making much, I then said, give me 1/2 the value of the tyre, about 90 quid, He did and we did the deal. When I showed up for the car he said "got your new tyre" so they must have forgotten and put on a new tyre.

Excellent!!

cheers and thanks for the info and advice on this and other thread.
